Genshin Impact Player Discovers How To Roll | Game Rant

Now that Travelers have been able to explore Genshin Impact for a month, they’re starting to see the game’s nuances surface. As players uncover new quests, hidden easter eggs, and advanced combat maneuvers, miHoYo’s free-to-play game has been growing in both complexity and popularity.

Genshin Impact is currently drawing most attention for its upcoming major update, which promises to introduce plenty of new content. That said, fans of the game continue to discover new existing features and mechanics, like the ability to roll.

Although fast travel techniques like bunny hopping are already generally accepted by Genshin Impact fans, one Redditor has shared their discovery of an in-game rolling technique. First of all, it should be noted that this rolling animation is currently employed by the game when a character falls from a height (rather than jumping in place). When landing from a more substantial height, the playable character will normally execute a short roll to soften the landing, but aside from in those moments, it is usually impossible to perform such a roll in Genshin Impact.

However, it seems that non-mobile players can trigger this rolling movement at any time by simply jumping straight up and moving forward immediately upon landing. Again, this doesn’t seem to be possible for mobile Genshin Impact players, who are admittedly the vast majority, but nonetheless, players can try rolling around Teyvat using this technique on consoles or PCs.

Many fans have likened the animation to a Young Link rolling through Kokiri Forest, which serves as a good reminder that this maneuver is also mostly impractical. Travelers shouldn’t worry about missing out on an awesome way to move more quickly, or anything the sort. Rather, rolling is just an interesting, arguably fun, way to travel in the game. It doesn’t offer any sort of augmented speed, though players can apparently look forward to faster travel in future Genshin Impact updates.

The fact that mobile users are unable to replicate this action indicates that it may very well be an unintended feature of the game, which is to say, miHoYo may “fix” this in a future patch by removing it altogether. Alternatively, it may grant mobile users the power to roll at any moment, but considering the fact players can already dash and sprint, it doesn’t seem incredibly likely.

Travelers are eagerly awaiting the November 11th arrival of Genshin Impact Version 1.1 in the form of an update. Though it’s also unlikely “rolling” will be addressed in this update, players can expect new characters including Childe and Zhongli, and a new seasonal event to enjoy.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
