Animal Crossing: New Horizons Christmas Event Predictions and Wish List

Ever Animal Crossing: New Horizons released the huge fall update last month, and players were treated with new activities, DIY recipes, and a full-color scheme change to suit the autumn season. However, it is worth noting that another update is expected to arrive in the game, with the first half focused on the upcoming Harvest Festival in celebration of Thanksgiving and the Toy Day Event for the Christmas Season.

For those looking forward to the Harvest Festival, Nintendo has pretty much laid out everything that players can expect in the event. However, the upcoming Toy Day event remains a mystery, but it is expected to be as big as the Harvest Festival and bring even more content to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While players wait for more details from Nintendo’s, here’s everything we want to see at the upcoming Christmas event.

The Christmas season has always been a huge part of previous Animal Crossing games, transitioning the player’s village from Autumn to Winter. Of course, veteran Animal Crossing fans would know that Jingle has always been a part of the Christmas celebrations in previous entries. Now, it is more than likely that Jingle will play as the host of the Toy Event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, though it would be nice to see him in a more central role than handing out presents to villagers.

Nintendo can probably add to the game to spruce things up is to have Jingle organize an exchange gift in the village. It’s worth noting that previous Animal Crossing games already have a version of this, but it is usually just the player who gives gifts to villagers. However, in this exchange gift, all existing villagers and the player, of course, are eligible to enter, and those who give the most thoughtful gift will be awarded. Of course, the challenge that players will face is to come up with the perfect gift to give their assigned villager, and knowing the personality type of this villager will be the player’s ticket to winning.

As previously mentioned, one big activity that the Toy Day Event brings to Animal Crossing is Jingle giving the player the task to hand out gifts to villagers. However, Nintendo could improve Toy Day by allowing the player and other villagers to hand out customized gifts through the crafting system. This way, Nintendo keeps up with traditions while utilizing the new mechanics introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Another thing that Nintendo could do to expand the Toy Event is by taking advantage of multiplayer. Players should be able to invite their friends over and allow them to also participate in the festivities. Moreover, utilizing the game’s multiplayer option may even allow players who may not see their loved ones in real life due to the ongoing pandemic to celebrate together and have a meaningful holiday, even if it’s just in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Of course, while it is possible to see some of the features discussed here, players shouldn’t worry about the upcoming Toy Event, given that it is more than likely that Nintendo has a few surprises planned for the event. As for what’s next in Animal Crossing: New Horizons after the Winter Update, Nintendo will likely lay out its plans for the game’s second Spring, which could bring even more content to keep the game popular in its second year. For now, players should look forward to the upcoming Harvest Festival and Toy Day events, especially since it is expected that tons of new activities, DIY recipes, and decorations will be added to the game in celebration of the upcoming holiday.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
