The Witcher Season 2 Set Photos Show Geralt and Roach | Game Rant

Similar to most major TV and film productions, the filming of The Witcher season 2 was halted earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, The Witcher’s production restarted last August, offering a sigh of relief to fans who can’t wait to see the return of Geralt and crew on Netflix.

New photos that were taken from The Witcher’s set in Yorkshire recently surfaced online, showing one of the show’s most iconic duos: Geralt and his trusty steed, Roach. The photos were captured by a Twitter user who goes by DRAutoart, who said The Witcher crew has been filming outside his studio. There are several shots of Henry Cavil donning Geralt’s costume, and he is seen in one photo hanging out at the door of his trailer. Another sees the actor walking around the set under an umbrella.

One interesting photo that was captured on the set of The Witcher season 2 shows the crew cleaning up fake blood off of Roach. This could mean that the horse has just finished shooting a bloody battle sequence, but unsurprisingly this photo has some fans concerned about whether Roach was hit in the middle of a battle, or if Geralt got hit and bled all over Roach. At the moment, it is difficult to tell what this scene could be, and the only way that fans can know what truly transpired in this scene is to wait for the release of The Witcher’s second season.

Meanwhile, the latest photos are not the first ones to be released outside of the show’s set. Earlier this month, the official Twitter account of Netflix’s The Witcher gave fans a preview of the costume designs for Ciri and Yennefer. Fans of the show should be able to tell that these pictures are clear depictions of just how much both characters have changed since season one.

Ciri, the crown princess of Cintra, appears to be looking less royal in her new costume and more ready to start her training with Geralt. The Witcher’s second season is set to take Ciri out of her ‘damsel in distress’ role and transition her into the strong warrior that was heavily hinted at during the last season. On the other hand, Yennefer also appears to have taken a turn for the worse, as she is seen beaten and chained in the latest photos.

The Witcher season 2 is coming to Netflix in 2021.
