Fans of Activision’s Call of Duty series love the franchise for its action-packed setpieces and realistic take on modern warfare. Moreover, Call of Duty‘s entertaining multiplayer mode puts player skills to the test. As such, Call of Duty has become a household name when it comes to action FPS titles. Additionally, thanks to the popularity of Battle Royale games, Call of Duty: Warzone added its own twist to the genre.
Players in Warzone can duke it out against fellow warriors using their unique loadout of weapons and perks. However, for experienced players out there, just which weapons stand out as must-haves? Just which weapons would help players achieve pro survivor status?
10 SP-R 208
Sniping becomes an essential component that separates beginners from pros in most multiplayer FPS titles. However, in Battle Royale games, a great sniper can outlast most of their foes with the right vantage point and backup sidearm. In Warzone, the SP-R 208 easily outclasses most sniper rifles with its bullet velocity and damage range.
At its core, the SP-R 208 offers a decent choice for mid-to-long range firefights. However, skilled snipers would almost always score one-shots if they use this weapon to score headshots. Players should equip the KR-600 Feather attachment and 208 Blitz stock to improve rate-of-fire and ADS, transforming the SP-R 208 into a short-range powerhouse. Meanwhile, the SP-R 28mm and Tac Laser can easily support the SP-R 208 for long-range engagements.
9 Bruen MK9
Despite the robust nature of LMGs, the Bruen MK9 easily outmatches most assault rifles with superior range, fast reload, and manageable recoil. Granted, the MK9 won’t be as strong as other LMGs in the Battle Royale’s meta. Effective loadouts may even enable the Bruen MK9 to resemble an assault rifle in terms of sheer mobility, ADS, and performance.
For instance, adding 60-round magazines, a Tac Laser, and an XRK Summit 26.8 barrel can fully maximize the MK9’s performance in terms of ranged combat. Moreover, the MK9 with 60-round mags can make it a juggernaut in prolonged fights while staying reliable in terms of firepower.
8 FAL
In terms of reliability, very few assault rifles (weapons, even) outmatch the FAL in terms of its handling, firing rate, and high damage output. Moreover, thanks to its modular nature, the FAL can easily accommodate almost any combat scenario with the right Perks and loadout. For instance, 24-round mags paired with a Tac Laser, the XRX Marksman, and the APX5 Holographic Sight can make the FAL a juggernaut on the battlefield.
Thanks to its scopes, the FAL can serve as a decent sniping weapon that can compete with most ordinary snipers without lowering ADS to a substantial amount. Lastly, the semi-auto default setting of the FAL can make it decent for almost any type of ranged incursion.
7 AUG
Players who want a break from the usual reliability of the assault rifle will appreciate the sheer power of the AUG. Unlike other SMGs, the AUG boasts great speed and potential in terms of close-range combat, enabling players to eliminate groups of enemies inside rooms or close quarters. Granted, its damage output isn’t enough to tear through armor immediately – but its sheer speed can compensate for such a caveat.
The AUG’s sheer customizability allows it to go well with most attachments. For instance, 30-round mags, the Commando Foregrip, and the Stippled Grip Tape easily allows the AUG to perform without sacrificing recoil and ADS. In turn, players can clear maps stealthily and quickly with the AUG.
6 Oden
Fans who want to experiment with a beast of an assault rifle wouldn’t go wrong with Oden. It currently boasts the best DPS in Warzone, especially on full-auto mode. Despite its rather slow cycle rate, the Oden outclasses most assault rifles in terms of long-distance combat. In turn, players may want to pair Oden with a close-range option, such as a shotgun or a beefed-up SMG.
In terms of loadouts, the Oden shines with 30-round mags and the Colossus Suppressor. Essentially, these accessories extend the Oden’s longevity and stealth in a firefight. Moreover, adding the Stippled Grip Tape can help make the Oden’s sheer weight a bit manageable. However, this caveat in itself poses a challenge worth conquering for pro players.
5 HDR
Players who want to test their map knowledge and tactical prowess via sniping will have fun with the HDR. Despite the popularity of the AX-50 as a sniper rifle, the HDR easily outmatches the former with its accessibility and accuracy. When paired with a close-ranged SMG or shotgun, the HDR can easily decimate foes from afar while having an insurance option when camping spots get compromised.
HDR loadouts work best when capitalizing on its sheer firepower from afar. For instance, the HDR with 9-round mags, the FTAC Champion, and a Thermal Sniper Scope can easily make the HDR a long-range powerhouse on the hands of a sharpshooter.
4 Origin 12
Players looking for a challenge can rock a shotgun into a Battle Royale match. However, players who want that additional thrill can get the Origin 12 to test its weaker damage but a more generous magazine size. Thanks to the Origin 12, players can secure the kill in close-quarters in a measly two to three hits. This advantage easily transforms Origin-12 into an indoor combat powerhouse. Moreover, equipping the Origin 12 with 12-round magazines, a 5mW Laser, and a Forge Tac Impaler can boost hip-fire accuracy and range without sacrificing movement speed.
Additionally, players can fully take advantage of Origin 12 with the Overkill Perk, which allows players to carry a second primary weapon with them. This lets them have the Origin 12 get a more long-range accompaniment, which is always valuable in any emergency.
3 Ram-7
Players who want a flexible-enough assault rifle to fit most incursions in Warzone might appreciate the versatility in the Ram-7. In essence, the Ram-7 sports impressive accuracy and firing rate that can make it an essential component in any assault rifle build. Moreover, adding components such as 50-round magazines, the LP945 Mini Reflex, and Stippled Grip Tape can secure much-needed stability and mobility in short- to mid-range incursions.
Unlike other assault rifles, the Ram-7’s decent damage and statistics might make it a mid-tier assault rifle in terms of performance. However, the kind of handling and recoil it offers compensates for the lack of damage. After all, these numbers can improve the survivability of players.
2 MP7
Players with a flair for short to mid-range combat would appreciate the innate appeal of SMGs. However, in terms of Warzone, the MP7 easily becomes a pro-choice thanks to its easy handling and better magazine capacity. Moreover, the MP7 becomes a great partner to the Oden, Grau, and Bruen, especially with the Overkill Perk.
Additionally, the MP7 can become a juggernaut of a primary weapon when equipped with the right loadout. For instance, 50-round mags with the G.I. Mini Reflex and Stippled Grip Tape easily maximize ADS potential. This loadout easily enables the MP7 to outpace foes from short range to standard long-range, given the right momentum.
1 Grau 5.56
In Battle Royale games, finding a reliable primary weapon means having a companion that lasts the entire game. Despite the Grau 5.56 lack of DPS, it makes up with its reliability and ease of handling. Unlike other assault rifles, the Grau 5.56 has relatively low recoil that makes it perfect for the occasional confrontation. Moreover, low recoil means the Grau 5.56 can devastate opponents in mid-to-long range combat with ease.
Interestingly, the Grau 5.56 retains its following despite its decent nerf. Fans looking for more firepower might rely on other guns. However, the Grau 5.56 may help in Warzone more thanks to its handling ease, especially with a 60-round Mags and the Commando Foregrip.
