AEW to Unveil Wrestling Project Next Week | Game Rant

All Elite Wrestling has sent out an official teaser aimed at pro wrestling gamers eager for an AEW video game. The wrestling promotion sent out a tweet revealing that fans can now follow its official AEWGames social media channels. The channels will provide future news updates on all of AEW’s video game projects, with the first announcements to be made on Nov. 10.

Covering the spread of mainstream social media channels, AEW has created accounts for AEWGames on Twitter and YouTube, whereas people can follow playAEWgames on Instagram and Facebook. The announcement tweet itself was direct and to the point, with AEW’s official Twitter account retweeting the information with a series of red sirens to catch scrollers’ attention.

The AEWGames tweet included a hype video accompanied by dramatic music to promote the arrival of its gaming channels, including information as to when gamers and AEW fans can tune in to its AEW Games 1.0 Special Event.

Several All Elite Wrestling stars are big video game fans, with one of its Executive Vice Presidents, Kenny Omega, being a self-confessed gamer. Omega has been instrumental in the video games initiative and its commitment to providing an old school experience that should appeal to fans of the Nintendo 64 classic, WWF No Mercy.

Omega has previously shared how he is working very closely creatively with the development team, helping to hone the gaming experience. He shared that AEW has a good team working on the project, despite the game still being a while off. What they do currently have, however, is enough to make Omega “really excited to show the first little bit of footage that we have.” He has reportedly been in contact with Syn Sophia, the studio formally known as AKI—whose work has reportedly influenced the approach the team working on WWE 2K22 is taking. AKI was behind a plethora of fondly remembered Nintendo 64 pro wrestling titles back in the ’90s, including WCW/nWo Revenge and WWF No Mercy.

Recent trademark filings indicate that All Elite Wrestling: General Manager may be the title of an upcoming game intended for mobile devices. The promotion additionally trademarked Elite GM with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) back in September. If these titles are intended for mobile devices, they will probably be released alongside the main titles currently in development for next-gen consoles like the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

AEW Games 1.0 Special Event takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 15:00 PST / 18:00 EST / 23:00 GMT and will be available to stream on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
