Though Claudia Doumit is plenty busy with her role in the hit Amazon Prime series The Boys, the actor recently pushed for a spinoff TV series for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Doumit played Farah Karim in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign, and the actress thinks that a show focused on the character would be a success.
Infinity Ward seems to have plans for Farah going forward, as the character was recently introduced to multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare as a Season 6 operator. The character was integral to the campaign, providing many of the strongest story beats throughout. With Farah surviving the events of the game and a fresh Modern Warfare universe to be explored, Doumit believes a show centered on the character would be a smart move.
With Activision losing interest in a Call of Duty movie, perhaps a Farah-led series is the right move for the company. Regardless, Doumit was incredibly enthusiastic when posed the question in an interview for Comicbook.com, saying that the interviewer was killing her “now that they put the idea in [her] head.” Doumit not only talked about how much she loves Farah and “wants to play Farah forever,” but also how much she “loves that idea” and wants to “make it happen.”
With many unanswered questions remaining from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign, the series would have plenty of directions to go in if Activision had interest in the idea. Farah also has an incredibly deep backstory, with plenty of potential for flashbacks to her childhood and time in captivity. Farah could potentially join the rebooted Task Force 141 in Modern Warfare’s potential sequels as well, making it possible for exciting cameos in the show from characters like Ghost and Captain Price.
Call of Duty would hardly be the only video game to get a television series, as numerous live action and animated shows based on games are in the works. The Last of Us is getting a live action series on HBO, with Joel voice actor Troy Baker requesting a role in the project. An Assassin’s Creed animated series was recently confirmed as well, joining Castlevania and an upcoming Resident Evil series on the platform. One major advantage for the potential Farah series is that Claudia Doumit could play the character on screen as well, with the show being able to go in either an animated or live action direction.
Regardless of whether the Farah series happens, it is nice to see Doumit so enthusiastic about her role as Farah. For those interested in the actor’s other work, the second season finale of The Boys sets Doumit’s character up to have a much larger role when the show returns.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
