Season Five of Pokemon GO‘s PvP Battle Leagues is on the horizon, starting November 9. This season will be special as there being multiple themed leagues with limits other than CP for Pokemon being entered.
One of these leagues coming to Pokemon GO is the Little Cup. This cup will only allow Pokemon with 500 CP or under, and they additionally need to be the first in their evolutionary line. Pokemon without an evolutionary line also cannot be entered.
While the cup hasn’t been started yet, players have already calculated which Pokemon will be leading the charts when it comes to Little Cup battles. Some, however, may not expect these Pokemon to be as good in the near future.
There are many first-stage Pokemon that are capable in the Little Cup format. However, five that have been pointed out as possibly strong contenders are:
- Bronzor
- Deino
- Wynaut
- Cottonee
- Wooper
Bronzor is a dual Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon that evolves into Bronzong with 50 Bronzor candies. Many are considering Bronzor to be the biggest threat in the Little Cup, almost a necessity for players wanting to reach the top. It is weak to Dark, Fire, Ghost, and Ground-type moves, but resists Psychic, Poison, Steel, Rock, Normal, Ice, Grass, Flying, Fairy, and Dragon-types.
The best moves for Bronzor to know in the Little Cup are Confusion and Psyshock or Heavy Slam for its charged move. Players need to remember to keep their Bronzor under 500 CP in order to let it compete.
Deino is a dual Dark and Dragon-type Pokemon. It is weak to Fairy, Bug, Dragon, Fighting, and Ice-type moves, while resisting Psychic, Water, Grass, Ghost, Fire, Electric, and Dark-type moves. When entering it in the Little Cup, Deino should have Dragon Breath for its fast move and Body Slam or Crunch for its charged move.
Wynaut is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon. This means that it is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves while resisting Psychic and Fighting-type moves. During the upcoming battles, Wynaut should have Counter for its fast move and Mirror Coat for its charged move, making it a good defensive choice.
Cottonee is a dual Grass and Fairy-type Pokemon. It is weak to Poison, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Steel-type moves, while resisting Dragon, Water, Ground, Grass, Fighting, Electric, and Dark-type moves. Cottonee is recommended to have Charm for its fast move, with Grass Knot or Seed Bomb for its charged move.
Finally, Wooper is a dual Water and Ground-type Pokemon. It is only weak to Grass-type moves, but it resists Steel, Rock, Poison, Fire, and Electric-type moves. Wooper should know Mud Shot for its fast move, and Body Slam or Mud Bomb for its charged move.
