Call of Duty Mobile continues to grow as it adapts to the changing needs of its community. Due to the popularity of Call of Duty: Warzone‘s night map and the Modern Warfare night modes, it is not surprising that players in Call of Duty Mobile are hoping for similar content.
There has not been much said about the next update or next season of Call of Duty Mobile, but data miners have come across some clues that may hint at content to come. It is not uncommon that in preparation for a new season the developers leave behind early files for new content, and it’s those files that data miners dig up and showcase for the Call of Duty community.
The leak comes from Reddit user Downtown_Equipment, who captured screenshots of code that would toggle night vision on and off. The feature would make the night vision goggles behave similarly to equipment, rather than being a passive effect, much like it operates in Modern Warfare. Along with the lines of code, the Reddit user posted some images that listed several maps with the tag “Night” at the end. The developers of Call of Duty Mobile have previously stated that they are working on night maps, but this is the first hard evidence fans have had since that announcement.
So far, the developers have not confirmed that Night Mode would be in the next season, so this information should be taken with a hearty grain of salt. Still, many fans believe that the upcoming season is the perfect time for Night Mode and missions in the dark.
It is not widely known, but the seasons of Call of Duty Mobile correspond with a constant narrative that the developers put out in the form of a comic. The Season 11 comic mentions an EMP attack with many of the game’s electronics being disabled. This would explain how several of the maps came to be dark, and night vision goggles are standard gear for night operations.
Season 11 has been fairly successful, with the enhanced visuals in both the battle royale and multiplayer game modes. With more content always on the horizon, Season 12 may exceed fan expectations by introducing the long-awaited Night Mode for mobile fans. Still, the developers of Call of Duty Mobile have waves of glitches, bugs, and desync issues to work through in addition to adding new content.
Call of Duty Mobile is available on iOS and Android devices.
