PARTNER FEATURE: ZTE, Jiangsu CRRC Digital Technology Co., LTD. (CRRC Digital) and CMMC Nanjing branch recently jointly applied Application of 5G Cloud XR Multi-Person Collaboration in Intelligent Manufacturing, selected an excellent application case of Alliance of Industrial Internet (AII), and shared the case at the 12th plenary meeting of aII.
The large bandwidth and low latency of 5G provides technical support for application of XR technology. In intelligent manufacturing field, ZTE has carried out an exploration of 5G cloud XR application together with CRRC Digital and CMCC.
ZTE XRExplore is deployed on MEC edge computing server to import and visually present three-dimensional digital models of trains, carriages and components in CRRC Digital system. In addition, with the conference function of platform, ZTE XRExplore implements multi-party remote cooperation through 5G network of CMCC.
In this way, data of CRRC Digital could be visually presented through XR technology. The various types of fragmented materials (two-dimensional drawings, product pictures, and text records) in the train manufacturing and market promotion scenarios could be understand easily through XR technology. The product supports multiple operations such as drag, rotation, marking, and coloring, greatly improving the efficiency of collaboration and market promotion.
In after-sales phase, the on-site engineer who wear AR glasses could pass the images with AR information in real time to remote expert terminals. Remote expert can freeze and mark the images, and provide “on-site guidance” in accordance with voice information streams. This greatly improves efficiency of assembly, quality inspection, and O&M.
With commercial use of 5G networks, digital transformation of intelligent manufacturing industry is accelerating.
