Rainbow Six Siege Reveals Details for Operation: Neon Dawn

Recently, Ubisoft revealed the details for the upcoming fourth season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. As part of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 5, the latest season update will introduce a number of new features including a new map and a new operator.

The new season for Rainbow Six Siege is called Operation: Neon Dawn and will be providing players with a reworked Skyscraper map, new accessibility features, as well as the first Thai Operator, Aruni. There was even a teaser trailer previewing the new Operator before fully revealing the character. The new updates will be free for all players when the season launches, though Aruni will only be free to Year 5 Pass owners first, and will then be unlockable to everyone the following week.

As Rainbow Six Siege’s new Operator, Aruni will be bringing her own primary and secondary weapons as part of her loadout in the game. She will be a defense-oriented character with several abilities and a bionic arm to break holes through walls. Aruni also uses her signature gadget, the Surya Gate, to deploy laser gates on walls, hatchets, doors, and windows. The gates will shock any attackers who come too close while shutting themselves off as clear paths for defenders. Also, the laser gates will electrify drones, projectiles, and even damage other Operators who come into close contact.

Along with the new Operator, Neon Dawn will be providing a revamped version of the Skyscraper map instead of adding more maps in Rainbow Six Siege. Skyscraper was reworked to make it a more competitive location with several new changes to the map. Ubisoft removed and relocated some balconies, added a new entryway through two sides of the building’s second floor and even balanced the bomb sites.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Neon Dawn will also be adding new accessibility features to the game for players to use. These features include Voice-to-Text and Text-to-Voice for in-game chat. Players will also gain access to chat assistance with Narration and Hints added to the Options Menu and can adjust any audio/visual cues for their chat. In addition, Ubisoft is launching the Test Server live for Operation: Neon Dawn exclusively on Windows PC on November 9th.

The Test Server will let players essentially test out the new features before they’re fully incorporated into the game. Players can submit any issues they experience in the Test Server to the Rainbow Six Siege website, specifically the R6 Fix platform. Neon Dawn is also launching the Sixth Guardian program to the game, where a limited-time event in Rainbow Six Siege is made to provide donations for a chosen charities. Ubisoft will keep players updated with more information on the Sixth Guardian Bundle.

There will also be more gameplay changes including tweaks to Hibana’s X-Kairos launcher, Jager’s ADS gadgets, and the runout timer for defenders has been shortened to make detection quicker. The official release date for Operation: Neon Dawn wasn’t revealed yet though some speculate it will launch this December.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X in development.
