Magic: The Gathering players are well into the Zendikar Rising format at this point and learning to master each of the best draft archetypes and how to grind through the Constructed Ranked levels after the big fall Standard rotation. Zendikar Rising continues to be the most popular limited format to play on Magic Arena, but this week is going to bring some exciting alternatives to fans of the collectible card games with yet another exciting rotation of events.
As expected, this week marks the launch of Kaladesh Remastered. This return to the 2016 set brings back a popular format and will offer a chance for fans of the Historic format to pick up a bunch of powerful cards and shake up that Constructed format a bit. To make room for Kaladesh Remastered events, there are going to be some changes to which drafts are available this week, so Magic Arena players who wanted to revisit the Ikoria Limited format should do so early this week before it disappears once again.
As fans should expect at this point, there will occasionally be a surprise event that pops up as a special treat for players to help celebrate a particular holiday or other occasion. That said, this week’s events appear to be locked in and it would be pretty surprising if anything else major showed up in the game between now and November 15. The week should be dominated by Kaladesh Remastered hype, so there likely won’t be much room for anything else special. Players will have their choice between two different types of Zendikar Rising draft options, an Ikoria: Lair of the Behemoths draft before it disappears midweek, Kaladesh Remastered once it launches, and the usual Friday Night Magic offering to spice things up a bit.

In terms of scheduled events, that should be everything players need to know to jump into Magic Arena this week and start playing some Zendikar Rising or get in one or two last hours of play with the the Godzilla-inspired Ikoria set before Kaladesh Remastered takes over that spot. All of the available sets on the table this week provide very entertaining Limited formats that were well-received by players, so that should help make for a popular week of events on the online platform.
As always, players can also queue up for casual or ranked Constructed play at any time. Those matches are free and are the primary way lots of players attempt to climb the ranked Constructed ladder all the way up to the Mythic Tier. Reaching that level of play requires a ton of practice, play, and grinding; but is a great way to try and qualify for special tournament invites and prizes in the competitive card game.
Magic Arena is available now for PC and Mac. A mobile version is currently in development.
