We now know a bit more about the changes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone when Black Ops Cold War launches.
In a post on the franchise’s website, Activision confirmed that progression will sync between the free-to-play battle royale Warzone mode and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as well as last year’s Modern Warfare, from December 10.
That’s when Season One of content for Black Ops Cold War is released. From the game’s initial launch on November 13, players can earn Military Ranks, which replace Enlisted Ranks and unlock “functional gameplay items.”
Once they’ve completed that, Black Ops Cold War users will unlock a new levelling system that syncs up with all three games as of December 10. From that point forward, you can progress through the Battle Pass by playing through any of these titles.
Player ranks in both Modern Warfare and Warzone will reset on this date, but users will keep everything they have previously unlocked. Officer Progression, meanwhile, has been renamed Season Levels and incorporates a Seasonal Prestige levelling system.
Black Ops Cold War’s first season of content will also introduce weapons from that game into Warzone. Existing Modern Warfare weapons will continue to be available, but you won’t be able to mix and match weapons and perks from both games. Operators from both games will also be available in Warzone.
“There are no current plans to remove content from Warzone but to ensure the best possible player experience, there may be occasions where content is delayed, or becomes temporarily or permanently inaccessible,” Activision wrote.
