With Spider-Man: Miles Morales set to hit shelves in just a few days’ time, fans of Insomniac’s take on the iconic Marvel superhero are likely itching to get stuck in. The game will act as a follow-up to Marvel’s Spider-Man‘s original campaign that released in 2018, following Miles Morales as he learns to hone his powers and embrace the responsibility the mantel of being Spider-Man brings.
Mega-fans looking to immerse themselves even more into the action of the new Spider-Man game can even get themselves a real-life replica of Miles’ kit thanks to Adidas, who has recently announced it will be releasing a pair of sneakers that tie-in to the upcoming spin-off. The shoes were unveiled today, with James Stevenson, community director for Insomniac Games, talking about the merchandise in a new post on the PlayStation Blog.
“We know Miles is a stylish teenager from Brooklyn who has just moved to Harlem,” Stevenson states during the press release, claiming “it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man suit without some serious drip, and Miles needed some killer sneakers to complete the look.” In the game, Miles wears a pair of stylish Adidas trainers, and thanks to the brand, they’ll now be available to purchase in real-life. The shoes themselves are a Spider-Man themed take on the Adidas Superstar, with a red and black design. The shoes will feature a black rubber shell-toe, a PlayStation icon on the laces, and a logo on the heel that replicates Miles’ iconic Spider-Man suit.
The shoes themselves will allegedly pop up frequently in the game, with Miles wearing both hi-top and low-top versions of the sneakers. A few images showcase the shoes fairly prominently, confirming that they’re incredibly authentic to their real-life counterpart. As for why Adidas Superstars, Stevenson claimed the shoe has a deep connection to New York, which is very fitting for Miles’ newest adventure. They can be purchased on Adidas’ website on November 19 in the US, Canada, and select Asia-Pacific region markets. Meanwhile, the UK and select European markets will get the shoes on December 4.
As for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the game has been a huge success with critics already, earning high scores from several publications. It seems the game’s story manages to tap back into what made its 2018 predecessor such a blast, with amazing visuals, fun combat, and a truly spectacular story befitting of the character’s history. It’ll be available on November 12 for PlayStation 4 and 5, standing as one of the biggest launch experiences currently slated to make its way to the next-generation console. As Insomniac begins to reveal more about Miles Morales’ first big-budget, video game adventure, it seems it’ll definitely be worth the wait.
