According to a tweet, Newegg will be selling limited consoles on the day of launch for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
When it comes to pre-orders, some retailers have already started shipping PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles to customers. But Newegg has another plan. Right after the clock hits midnight on the day each console launches, Newegg will sell the new systems, limit 1 per person. The Xbox Series X/S will be available 11/10/20 at 12:01am ET and the PS5 will be available 11/12/20 at 12:01am ET. Just like pre-orders were swiped quickly, it’s likely that consoles available at Newegg will vanish fast, so those who are interested may want to act quickly.
For the most part, the pre-orders are the only way the next-generation consoles will be available at first, which is why this Newegg reveal is exciting. There will likely be a few consoles available here and there, but simply walking into a GameStop and hoping to get lucky probably won’t result in exiting with a new console. The retailers’ launch plans for the next-gen consoles are mostly known, and now Newegg’s can be added to that list.
Snagging a console online via a pre-order or a quick sale online is something that is a luxury for some, but a necessity for others.
