The release of the PS5 is just a few days away, though many people have already managed to get their hands on the console and its accessories early. Some consumers are YouTubers who have received the PS5 for unboxing purposes, while some retailers have sent out the console or its peripherals by mistake. One user has managed to discover something rather interesting in the lining of the PS5 Pulse Headset.
Sony, along with various other retail outlets, actually shipped the PS5 accessories nearly two weeks ahead of the console’s scheduled launch date. This has allowed users to get acquainted with the console’s various peripherals early, one of which being the PS5 Pulse Headset. Although, there’s actually a clever hidden detail featured on the new headset.
A Reddit user by the name Thenadamgoes discovered that the lining of the headset was covered in a texture that appears to be the classic PlayStation button symbols: X, square, circle, and triangle. Whoever was in charge of the manufacturing of the Pulse Headsets must have been very committed to promoting the PlayStation aesthetic and design.
This texture is actually featured all along the outside of the PS5 console’s surface design as well. If one were to look rather closely, they could see a bunch of tiny X’s, squares, circles, and triangles all along the white surface of the PS5. It’s amazing how dedicated the design team was in terms of the outward aesthetic of the console and accessories.
This is a detail that very few people will likely notice, at least at first glance, and yet the fact that the manufacturers and designers took the time to add such an intricate detail is very impressive. In a way, it says a lot about the console and its peripherals having such a memorable and detailed design, when compared to the Xbox Series X, which is just a black rectangular prism, albeit with a very clean and aesthetically pleasing design.
It seems that this texture is featured on all of the other PS5 accessories. The PS5 DualSense controller also features this texture consisting of all the PlayStation button symbols, as well as the PS5 media remote. It will be interesting to see if this detail gets carried over into other console peripherals or other iterations of the PS5 itself. Though, this texture may be harder to see on a black surface rather than a white surface, in case a black variant of the PS5 ever gets produced.
The PS5 is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.
