Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived. The latest title in Ubisoft’s long-running historical RPG series takes the war of the Assassins and Templars to the 9th Century, and the mist-shrouded shores of Anglo-Saxon England. It may not remain Anglo-Saxon for long though, if new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla main character Eivor and his/her Viking comrades have anything to do about it.
The game follows in the RPG-heavy footsteps of the more recent Assassin’s Creed titles, allowing players to upgrade their weaponry, armor and skills as they take on Alfred the Great. The armies of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms are powerful, and Eivor will need some serious firepower to stake a claim to their land. When a normal weapon simply won’t cut it, players can always seek out their unique variants. One of these is Skadi’s Wrath, a powerful Light Bow that far outstrips its common counterpart.
To find Skadi’s Wrath, players will first need to head to the town of Ledecestre (modern-day Leicester), which is in the East Mercia region. Ledecestre is a level 20 area, and therefore can be accessed fairly early in the game. To get there quickly, players should use one of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Mounts. Once in the area, head for the center of town, and find the large church with the stained glass windows. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find, as its the Viewpoint for Ledecestre.
Take out the guard by the steps with some classic Assassin’s Creed stealth, and enter through the main door. Next, deal with the guards inside, then find the ladder in the main room. Head up the ladder and break through the flimsy wooden panels to gain access to a secret staircase. Descend the staircase all the way to the basement, and check the left-hand wall of the furthest room. The chest containing Skadi’s Wrath should be there, and all that’s left is to grab it.
Each weapon in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is associated with a specific skill tree. These are the Bear, the Wolf, and the Raven. Skadi’s Wrath is connected to the Bear tree, which enhances its stats and abilities. Before upgrades, the bow fires with 49 Speed, 61 Attack, 89 Stun, and 60 Crit-Pre.
As a Light Bow, Skadi’s Wrath is actually intended to be used in Valhalla’s melee combat. While this may seem counterintuitive, the incredible fire-rate of Light Bows makes it possible. It’s for this reason that the Light Bows can be found in the Bear Skill Tree, which is focused on close-quarters fighting.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and will release on November 12th for PS5.
