Most of Overcooked: All You Can Eat’s new features are now available with the launch of All You Can Eat on the Xbox Series X today, which include updated visuals, new content, and more user-friendly gameplay options. That being said, it looks like some of the most next-gen features won’t be available until the PS5 version arrives in two days, since that version will be utilizing the console’s DualSense controller.
Team17 took to the PlayStation Blog today to detail how All You Can Eat, which bundles remastered versions of Overcooked and Overcooked 2, will make use of the DualSense’s different features. First off, it confirmed that the controller’s light bar will be used to highlight which color a player is. This feature was included in the PS4 versions but will prove more useful on the PS5 thanks to the light bar’s more visible position around the DualSense’s touchpad.
Better yet, the controller’s next-gen haptic feedback will be used heavily. Team17 said different things will trigger the haptics, including food catching on fire, recipes timing out, meals being delivered successfully, and tossed items being caught. What’s more, the DualSense’s haptic feedback will be able to tell players where something is happening by focusing vibrations to a specific part of the controller, allowing them to keep a better track of the chaos around them.
Along with all of this, it was confirmed that Overcooked: All You Can Eat will also make use of the DualSense’s touchpad to access an emote wheel, while its built-in speakers will play sounds like the beeping of a burning recipe and the alert for a failed order for an extra layer of audio feedback. All of these features will come together to provide what Team17 calls “the most immersive version of Overcooked yet.”
Overcooked: All You Can Eat is now available for Xbox Series X and will launch on November 12 for PS5.
