Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is finally available, and fans have wasted no time exploring the campaign’s various missions for hidden details. One big discovery has already been made within the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War story missions, and it features a mascot that poops out grenade launchers. Minor Spoiler Warning: Campaign footage ahead.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops storyline has been intense and serious since it began back in 2010, but that has not stopped players from finding a handful of lighthearted gags within the series’ campaigns. With the original Black Ops letting players acquire a Thundergun from Zombies and Black Ops 2 allowing players to interact with Mjolnir, Raven has kept the special weapon easter eggs alive within Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s campaign.
The special weapon can be acquired within the Black Ops Cold War mission “Redlight, Greenlight” and was discovered by Redditor dajokaman759. The method of acquiring the weapon is the most interesting part of the easter egg, however, as it sees players enter Burger Town. The fan favorite restaurant first appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and has made sporadic appearances in the series ever since.
After players push through the diner, they stumble upon the mascot of Burger Town. The Burger Town Boy may not come to life like in Advanced Warfare’s Exo Zombies map Infection, but the mascot does do something very special. After pressing the button on the side of the mascot several times and listening to funny lines like “would you like communism with that?”, the Burger Town Boy will eventually poop out an M79 grenade for players to use.
The high-damage weapon is fully usable for the remainder of the mission, but the way of acquiring the weapon is as random as it is hilarious. This fun pooping mascot’s visual design fits well in Black Ops Cold War’s 1980s setting, and it is hard not to appreciate the special easter egg inserted by the campaign team. While there are likely plenty of discoveries that have yet to be made in the game’s campaign, it is hard to imagine something can top the Burger Town Boy in terms of humor.
While some players have made some interesting requests for Black Ops Cold War’s campaign, a weapon pooping mascot was likely not something that players knew they wanted. While Call of Duty Zombies is widely known as the home for detailed easter eggs in CoD, this goofy campaign addition gives the survival mode some real competition.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
