It may have been more than seven years since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, but the game is still going strong. It’s the best selling video game of all time and, thanks to a string of steady updates, still has a relatively large player base. Although most people have had their fill of the game’s single player mode, GTA Online is still teeming with life.
It took quite a while for things to really get going, with the initial implementation of GTA Online leaving a lot to be desired. As time has passed though, it has grown into something entirely different, with more features and purchasable items than anybody could have ever anticipated.
Updated March 6, 2021, by Thomas Bowen: Where once there were only a handful of apartments scattered around the map, the world of GTA Online is now littered with different types of property; most of which will cost players a pretty penny. Thankfully, however, there’s almost always a cheaper alternative available meaning that players won’t have to break the bank unless they really want to.
10 Sandy Shores Facility ($2,740,000)
The Sandy Shores Facility is an abandoned military installation on the edge of the airfield near Trevor’s home. It’s far from cheap, but due to its location, it’s one of the best facilities in the game and is definitely one worth picking up for those with funds to spare.
It has the capacity for up to 12 vehicles, although five of these spots are reserved for special vehicles. The Avenger, Chernobog, Khanjali Tank, RCV and the Thruster can all be stored at the facility – providing easy access for those in the North-Eastern part of the map.
Thankfully, Blaine County has plenty of cheaper facilities for those operating on a budget. The RON Alternates Wind Farm ($1,855,000) and Mount Gordo Facilities ($1,465,000) are both relatively close to Sandy Shores and can be purchased for considerably less. They’re not quite as easy to access though, which likely explains their lower prices.
9 Bilgeco Warehouse ($2,825,000)
The Bilgeco Warehouse is a large crate warehouse found in Los Santos International Airport. It’s possible to store up to 111 crates at the premises and players are also given an on-site CEO office as part of the purchase price.
Its South Los Santos location is incredibly convenient and its high capacity comes in very helpful when waiting for the right contraband prices to come up. It’s worth noting though that as well as the upfront cost, players will need to pay an additional $1000 per day in additional fees.
With this in mind, a smaller warehouse might be a better fit depending on how many crates players plan on moving. The Disused Factory Outlet over in Strawberry is around one third of the price while the small Convenience Store Lockup in Rancho is less than a tenth at $250,000.
8 Murrieta Heights Vehicle Warehouse ($2,850,000)
Murrieta Heights is one of the most well-positioned areas on the map and this is reflected by its high property prices. As a result, the Murrieta Heights Vehicle Warehouse is the most expensive vehicle warehouse in the game and so should only be purchased by those with plenty of money to burn.
It provides 8 vehicle parking spots, although these are somewhat useless given that most high-end apartments provide 10. That said, those hoping to unlock the challenging ‘Live a Little’ trophy are going to need all the vehicle space they can find. Where it definitely comes in helpful is its ability to store up to 40 stolen cargo vehicles. When full, it can house millions of dollars worth of cars, making it a useful, albeit expensive, investment.
Although not quite as well located, the La Mesa Vehicle Warehouse is a much cheaper alternative than Murrieta Heights. It’ll still set players back a cool $1.5 million, mind, but it offers all of the same perks as the Murrieta Heights warehouse at nearly half the price.
7 Land Act Reservoir Facility ($2,950,000)
This underground facility can be found in East Los Santos near the Tataviam Mountains. Like other large facilities, it has space for the five special vehicles as well as seven additional vehicle spots. Its high price and poor location make it one of the worst facilities in the game though, so players should look elsewhere unless they’ve really got nothing better to spend their money on.
For less than half the price, either the Mount Gordo Facility or the Paleto Bay Facility would make for a much better alternative. Both of them are based in Blaine County though, so if for whatever reason players need a facility in East Los Santos, they might just have to bite the very expensive bullet.
6 Walker & Sons Warehouse ($3,040,000)
Another large crate warehouse, another huge price-tag. There’s enough space to land a buzzard outside the door for ease of access, but its South Los Santos location is less than ideal. It’s in the Banning industrial area not too far from the coast, making it a chore to get to from most places on the map.
Given that it has the same 111 crate capacity as other large warehouses, it’s a tough sell for such a high price. Both the nearby Bilgeto Warehouse and the Xero Gas Factory are much better alternatives; offering the same storage capacity for less while also being much more accessible due to being within the grounds of Los Santos International Airport.
5 Lombank West Office & Garage ($3,100,000)
Owning an executive office is somewhat important for those looking to complete CEO work. It’s the place where cash will accumulate and can also be upgraded to provide additional services. The Lombank West Office & Garage in Del Perro is one of the most expensive, but it’s fairly well placed when compared with some of the other options.
It’s possible to purchase up to three adjoining garages, each with a 20 vehicle capacity. Players can also access cargo and vehicle missions here and can even sleep there after purchasing the appropriate upgrade. Given that only one executive office can be owned at a time though, many players will likely opt for a cheaper office, or the very best one available.
When it comes to finding better value, the Maze Bank West Office and Garage makes for an incredibly enticing budget option. It’s also in North Los Santos’ Del Perro district and offers all of the same perks as Lombank West including a rooftop helipad. The best part, however, is that it’s priced at only $1 million.
4 Fort Zancudo Hangar A2 ($3,250,000)
Fort Zancudo Hangar A2 is the most expensive hangar in the game – and for good reason. Purchasing the hangar gives players the ability to freely enter or fly over Fort Zancudo without incurring a wanted level, which is worth the price of admission alone. As an added bonus, this clearance also extends to fellow organization and motorcycle club members.
There are cheaper hangars on the base that offer the same low level clearance, so those looking to save a bit of money might be better off looking at hangar 3497 instead. Either way, a hangar on the Fort Zancudo base is worth its weight in gold and is a solid investment.
3 Cypress Warehouses ($3,265,000)
For as useful as being able to store up to 111 crates is, the Cypress Warehouses are in something of an awkward position; both geographically and in their pricing. At more than $3 million, it’s an investment that only those with money to burn should even think about making.
Wholesale Furniture is a lot more convenient to access; not to mention more than a million dollars cheaper. Both offer the same storage capacity and perks and so there really isn’t any reason to purchase Cypress unless the player is yet to reach the limit of five warehouses. Even then, there are better options when it comes to large warehouses.
2 Darnel Bros Warehouse ($3,500,000)
The Darnel Bros Warehouse is the most expensive large warehouse in the game and definitely the most conveniently located. It was originally owned by Lester, who is one of the best characters in GTA V and the brains behind the game’s many heists. Whether or not that makes it worth the investment though is definitely up for debate.
Although it’s possible to own up to five warehouses, most players only tend to bother with two to avoid mission cooldown times. Thanks to its prime location, there’s certainly an argument to be made that Darnel Bros should be one of them, but its high price makes it a luxury more than a necessity.
As with Cypress Warehouses, Wholesale Furniture is a more than suitable alternative and is nearly half the price. If the La Mesa district is a deal-breaker though, Logistics Depot comes in at $700,000 cheaper, while the Medium sized Railyard Warehouse can be purchased for a little over a million.
1 Maze Bank Tower Office & Garage ($4,000,000)
The best of the best when it comes to property investment; Maze Bank Tower Office & Garage will set players back a cool four million dollars. If all three garages are purchased, that price rises to $6.75 million. Whilst it certainly has its uses, it’s very much a luxury purchase and more of a status symbol than anything else.
It’s located in the Pillbox Hill area of Downtown Los Santos placing it slap-bang in the middle of everything. Thanks to the building’s size, it’s easy to spot from miles around and there’s a helipad on the roof for ease of access. It’s undoubtedly the best executive office in the game, but one that very few players will be able to comfortably afford.
While not quite as visually impressive, the Arcadius Business Center Office & Garage makes for a perfectly suitable alternative and, at $2,250,000, is almost half the price. Like the Maze Bank executive office, it’s in the Pillbox Hill area and also boasts a rooftop helipad.
