Destiny 2 Beyond Light Players Can Farm Tons of XP Right Now

Destiny 2 players looking to get a huge jump on progressing through their Season Pass should head to Europa as fast as possible. Much like the repeatable bounties on the Moon (which Bungie has since disabled), the repeatable bounties from Variks are giving 300% XP upon completion.

Every time that Destiny 2 players visit Variks, they can pick up a total of 5 of his randomized bounties. But while the Fallen NPC’s daily bounties can sometimes be quite involved, his repeatable bounties are fairly easy to complete. Most of them involve getting kills with specific weapons, ammo types, or abilities.

At some point on Friday night, players started to realize that the XP coming from Variks’ random bounties was a lot larger than it should be. Usually, the bounties only give about 5,000 XP (with bonuses coming from Ghost perks), but now they give around 13,000 XP. It’s a huge boost to anything that needs XP, but mostly players will see their Season Pass ranks shoot up while farming these bounties…at least for now.

Given that Bungie was quick to respond to the same glitch with the Moon repeatable bounties, it’s very likely this bonus XP won’t last too long. Still, for the time being, players can earn a few ranks on the Season Pass before Bungie likely disables Variks’ repeatable bounties.

However, if Bungie does disable the bounties, there is likely to be a stronger uproar from players than there was when the Moon bounties were disabled. Europa is the new destination for Destiny 2‘s Beyond Light expansion, and therefore it is a location that players are likely to spend a lot of their time.

If those who spend excess time aren’t able to pick up bounties to complete while they are working on quests or finding Entropic Shards, then that is a part of the content that is missing. Granted, it’s a small part, but it’s still something that players expect to have access to.

While this glitch might have had huge implications for the World First raid race next weekend, Bungie already made the smart decision of disabling artifact power bonuses while the Contest modifier is active. So for the first 24 hours, players will not receive any bonus power from their artifact, and their power level will be capped at 1230 during the entire raid. This modifier was created to skirt around situations like this, where the playing field is not even because some found an exploit and others did not.

Those who don’t care about the World First raid race and just want the bonus power to complete challenging content in Destiny 2 are free to farm as many Variks bounties as they can until the inevitable Bungie response. When the Moon bounty glitch was discovered it only took Bungie about 2 hours to respond, so players should act fast.
