The remake for Demon’s Souls has been released for players in North America and the Oceania regions on the PlayStation 5. Many are enjoying their conquest of perilous monsters and dangerous locations that are accompanied by next-generation graphics.

With the original Demon’s Souls being released back in 2009, many have noticed some obvious differences from other entries in the Souls series. While those who have played the original have a better idea on what to expect, some are a bit out of their element with this entry that serves as a PS5 launch title.

Something that may confuse some players is the lack of any apparent save points. There are no bonfires that players can find like in the Dark Souls games, leaving some confused on how to properly save their games.

New players to Demon’s Souls don’t need to worry, however, as there really isn’t any kind of specific save point they’re unable to find or any person to talk to. In fact, players in Demon’s Souls have the ability to save at any point in their adventure without needing anything special to do so.

In order to save, players just need to pause their game and select quit. At that point, Demon’s Souls will automatically save as they leave the game. This also means that players can’t save scum in case they die and want to avoid being stuck in their Soul Form. It also lets players stop and pick up their game at any point they wish, while also being able to turn their console off.

Some modern fans of the franchise might be unhappy with the lack of save points or bonfires, but they should note that the original Demon’s Souls was released two years before Dark Souls. With this remastering seemingly looking to remain loyal to the original game’s design, the original features are mostly left intact without bringing over many newer features from later entries in the series.

There is plenty for players to discover as they go through the challenges presented by Demon’s Souls. While some don’t find the game to be as challenging as other franchise entries, there is still plenty of fun to be had. There are additionally many new trophies for PlayStation 5 players to unlock as they go through their playthroughs. There are many different ways for players to go through their games, allowing for lots of replay value.
