Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War released nearly a week ago, and some fans have been hard at work trying to complete all the title’s achievements. Black Ops Cold War has 44 achievements across campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies and some achievements are easy to accomplish like completing campaign missions, while others like forging the Pack-a-Punch machine require multiple steps.
The Nightmare at 20 Feet achievement is one of the hidden achievements, meaning that the stipulations for earning the achievement is a mystery. However, the achievement’s name gives a very helpful clue to the requirements. The name is a play on a 1963 episode of the classic TV show The Twilight Zone titled “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.” The episode is about a man going insane on a plane flight due to seeing a creature outside the window and the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War achievement also requires a plane and the ability to conquer a fear of scary creatures.
In order to earn the Nightmare at 20 Feet achievement, players must kill 100 zombies while standing on the wing of the plane on the Die Maschine map. The achievement requires the player to remain on the wing of the plane for all 100 kills or it will not count.
In order to reach the wing of the plane, a couple of barricades must be opened to access the large open area where the wing of the plane is located. This area also has the Juggernog machine, which will be a very useful tool for earning the Nightmare at 20 Feet achievement. Once the area has been unlocked, the wing of the plane can be seen sticking out of the ground. In order to earn the achievement, players will have to be fully on the wing and not step foot of it.
It is recommended that players create a custom loadout with a loadout with plenty of ammo. The Stoner 63 or M60 LMGs are a good choice, but will most likely require Speed Cola to fend off the hordes of zombies. Every perk can be helpful, but for this achievement, Juggernog, Speed Cola, and Quick Revive will make things much easier. It is also recommended that the loadout also contains an offensive field upgrade like Frost Blast, Energy Mine, or Ring of Fire.
The easiest way to complete the achievement is by jumping into a solo Zombies game and getting to the wing of the plane as soon as possible. Barricades need to be unlocked and perks are recommended so players will most likely start killing zombies on the wing after round 5. After round 5, players should be able to kill 100 zombies without leaving the wing within 2 rounds.
