Players are currently scrambling to take advantage of Fortnite‘s XP Xtravaganza to earn as much XP as possible. One important step in doing this is waging war on Fortnite‘s robots, and not just challenging them to a dance battle.
In a three-step challenge, players must find and destroy Fortnite‘s Stark Industry Robots, Gatherers, and Gorgers. Each of these mechanical lifeforms is difficult to take down in its own right, and they must be found first. On top of that, other players will obviously be competing for the same eliminations when not competing with each other. So here’s a guide to completing the challenge.
Probably the easiest to take down, the Stark Robots aren’t too difficult to find and fight. A lot of them can be found patrolling Stark Industries, but that’s where everyone will head to consistently. It can be a hot drop for a lot of reasons, so it might be best to try somewhere else. Fortunately, the Robots also patrol Quinjet crash sites, the areas where players can get energy rifles. These are marked by blue smoke plumes and guarded by around five Robots, so land early, blast away carefully, and try to grab an energy rifle while there.
Gatherers and Gorgers must be faced together, since the former are spawned by the latter. Find a Gorger, and Gatherers are certain to swarm shortly after. Destroying Gatherers is not particularly difficult, and after shooting one down it can be used as a weapon. It’s a powerful weapon too, but can’t be switched away from after being picked up, so be careful. It’s best to be careful of the Gorger too, not taking it down until it’s spawned enough Gatherers to fulfill the challenge.
These are the big boys of the challenge. A Gorger’s location is marked by a red beam of light on the map, and there are a few areas they frequent. Finding and destroying a Gorger is a balancing act of dealing with Gatherers and other players. The Gatherers can prove overwhelming, and Gorgers are pretty tanky. Be patient and watchful, and eventually enough Gorgers will fall to complete the challenge.
Many consider the Marvel crossover to be Fortnite‘s best season yet, and there’s a real chance it will be ending in the near future. So get out there and enjoy it while it’s still around.
