Surprising a number of PC fans when it hit the platform earlier this year, Horizon Zero Dawn has been a huge hit with users on Steam so far, boasting hefty sales numbers from the moment it debuted. It seems the game will be reaching a whole subset of new players very soon, however, with Aloy’s 2017 adventure recently confirmed to be joining a new PC platform.
Announced on the storefront’s Twitter page, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be coming to GOG on November 24, with the site claiming it’ll benefit from full GOG GALAXY 2.0 support. Players can wishlist the game now on the store’s app or request that GOG notifies them when it is officially released.
As for what comes in the Complete Edition, its biggest feature is the addition of the Frozen Wild DLC campaign, which sees Aloy depart to a new, snow-based region with fresh enemies to face and gear to acquire. It acts as a solid spate of end-game content for those who have completed the game’s main questline, offering the player more challenges and over 10-hours of new story content. Alongside the DLC, there’s also several additional weapons and outfits, including the Carja Storm Ranger Outfit, the Carja Mighty Bow, the Carja Trader Pack, the Banuk Trailblazer Outfit, the Banuk Culling Bow, the Banuk Traveller Pack, and the Nora Keeper Pack.
Purchasers also get a digital artbook, showcasing some artistic renditions of the game’s mechanical dinosaurs and distinct locations. For those who never played Horizon Zero Dawn when it first debuted on PlayStation 4 or PC, the game takes place in a mysterious prehistoric world, where tribes of humans co-exist with species of highly advanced mechanical dinosaurs. The game’s protagonist, Aloy, sets out on an adventure to discover more about her cryptic past, all the while uncovering an ancient threat that has the potential to annihilate the entire human race.
It’s a good time for new players to sink their teeth into Horizon Zero Dawn’s lengthy campaign, as the game is set to receive a sequel next year. Titled Horizon Forbidden West, the game will see Aloy’s adventure continue on the PlayStation 5, as she continues to uncover the secrets of her world and the mechanical beasts that live within it. The game received a trailer earlier this year, showcasing Aloy venturing to tropical beaches and snowy mountain tops, hinting that her next adventure will feature new terrain to cover and dinosaurs to battle. It’ll be interesting to see whether talks of a PC port surround the game as its release date grows ever closer.
Horizon Zero Dawn is out now on PC and PlayStation 4.
