World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players have finally ventured into the afterlife, exploring the four major realms on their way to Level 60. But as heroes learned throughout each zone’s storyline, the anima drought has destabilized every region, allowing some unspeakable acts to occur. While every WoW covenant is suffering from these effects, the most shocking betrayal comes from within the Necrotic Wake dungeon.
Maldraxxus, the realm sworn to defend the Shadowlands from invasion, has attacked Bastion’s Temple of Courage via the flying necropolis Zolramas. Ransacking the stored anima and sacrificing Kyrians to power their dark magic, these undead enemies are the vanguard of a coming apocalypse if not stopped. Now, Azeroth’s champions must defeat these enemies to prevent the rest of Bastion from being destroyed. Here’s what players should expect.
- Zolramus Necromancer: Accompanied by multiple skeletons, killing this mob will immediately destroy all skeletons
- Skeletal Marauder: Interrupt the Rasping Scream so players aren’t feared, and have the tank face it away from the group due to a frontal cleave.
- Flesh Crafter and Stitching/Separation Assistant: If targeted by Throw Cleaver, run behind another mob so the projectile hits it instead.
- Nar’zudah: Kill the surrounding mobs first, interrupt the Necrotic Bolts casts when possible, run away from the other player when tethered by Shared Agony, and dispel Dark Shroud with spells like the Mage’s Purge.
- Skeletal Monstrosity: Stay out of melee range when Reaping Winds and Chill Scythe is cast.
Clear as much of the surrounding trash as possible before pulling the boss. Players targeted by Heaving Retch should move away from the party to avoid hitting anyone else with the AOE and resulting DOT.
After every Heaving Retch, several worms will spawn and fixate random players. Kite, CC, and kill these worms quickly, or they will explode leaving a DOT on the entire group. Finally, tanks should move Blightbone whenever he leaves a Fetid Gas zone on the ground, which pacifies players standing in it.
The boss occasionally uses Unholy Frenzy and gains 50-percent attack speed, but any World of Warcraft hunters or druids can dispel the effect. Interrupt Necrotic Bolt when possible and stay out of the Necrotic Breath AOE cast. Armarth also summons several Land of the Dead adds that must be killed before they explode from the Final Harvest cast.
Interrupt the Reanimated Mage and have the tank drag Armarth plus the other adds over to the Reanimated Crossbowman to quickly burst them down.
Players start the battle fighting against Stitchflesh’s Creation. The boss will be initially untargetable and hurls bombs, which leave a void zone. After a while, Stitchflesh’s Creation will aim Meat Hook at a random World of Warcraft player that can be used to pull Surgeon Stitchflesh from his platform. The group then has 30 seconds to damage the boss before he goes invulnerable again while summoning another Stitchflesh’s Creation.
Simply repeat the first phase again to pull Stitchflesh back down and defeat him eventually.
Frozen Binds will root and damage random players, which must be dispelled once no one else is inside the circle, to prevent it from spreading. The boss will cast Comet Storm, which targets everyone’s current location, so keep moving until the spell finishes. Occasionally, Nalthor will cast Dark Exile on one World of Warcraft DPS, sending them to a solo area where they must dodge AOEs and defeat a Zolramus Siphoner add within 50 seconds or instantly die.
After returning, the player will drop a void zone, but gain 100-percent critical chance to help burst Nalthor with remaining cooldowns.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will release on November 23rd.
