Destiny 2: Bungie Declares Clan Luminous World First for Deep Stone Crypt Raid

The new Destiny 2: Beyond Light raid is finally out and ready for players to dive into, although the title of World First for Deep Stone Crypt has officially been taken. Fans and viewers watching the competing clans conquer the new raid since yesterday had recently assumed who Deep Stone Crypt’s World First belonged to, and those assumptions have now been officially ratified by Bungie.

Dozens of clans raced for the first completion of Destiny 2‘s latest raid, with Bungie announcing today through Twitter that the clan Luminous will be holding the title for Deep Stone Crypt. The announcement has come with some mixed responses from viewers, with fans of Luminous congratulating the clan, and fans of other popular players sharing sharing their dashed hopes to see others come out on top.

This first completion of Beyond Light‘s Deep Stone Crypt reportedly happened on November 21st, around 3:30PM PST, five and a half hours after the raid first went live. The World First clan, Luminous, also had a bit of an edge in order to make that incredible time for learning and conquering the activity, with everyone in the party having a history in speed-running. Obviously, a familiarity with frame-perfect reactions was a huge help for Luminous, although the team’s history of pushing the boundary’s of the map has lead to a few fans questioning the legitimacy of the World First completion.

While some players have questioned the results, Bungie has confirmed that it verified that Luminous was not only the first to complete the raid, but also that the clan reached that first spot legitimately. Considering how the developer changed Destiny 2‘s World First rules in preparation of Deep Stone Crypt, there would have been a number of hoops to jump through in order to get away with cheating. So, it is highly likely that the Luminous victory won’t be overturned at this point, with Bungie confirming for itself that the clan’s run was deemed legitimate.

What’s most exciting about the Deep Stone Crypt completion, however, is that now that the first team has beaten the activity, new content has opened up throughout Destiny 2, similar to how other raids since Forsaken worked. With Destiny 2‘s new exotic quests available and even more new content popping up around the game, the completion has opened up more of Beyond Light for even solo players. So, congratulations are in order for Luminous for being the clan that opened the next phase of the new expansion.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
