Every Romance Option in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (And How to Woo Them)

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey introduced romance options to the franchise, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla following its lead. There are a few changes, though, such as the ability to return to them for a kiss or even a break-up. In other words, while the depth is the same there, it’s not exactly an escapade of lovers across the game’s map (though it can be).

Nonetheless, while these do not have a major impact on the story—with one exception—fans of the franchise may want to check them all out, if for love or even laughs in some situations. Furthermore, none of these romances are locked by the player’s gender. PLEASE NOTE: due to the nature of this article, MINOR SPOILERS may be spread throughout. In regards to the story-based romance, which is the final entry marked with FINAL ROMANCE, it is a MASSIVE SPOILER for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

The very first romance that can be found in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is Bil, who tasks the player with finding the item, Bil’s Comb, in Norway. Bil can be found north of the Norway camp, and her comb is found in the center of the nearby pond. Afterwards, players may go on a date with Bil and romance her if they so choose.

One of the earlier saga quests takes players to East Anglia, where players will meet two brothers: brothir and broder. If the naming convention seems odd, that’s because of some hilarity that comes later. At the end of the questline, players will be at a wedding. Broder will challenge them to a drinking conquest and then ask Eivor if they would lay with him. It’s a straight-forward, basically one-time scene, but if players choose to do so, that’s where the hilarity sets in. At the very end, players must refer to them by name. Choosing Broder or Brothir in AC Valhalla is a bit mind-boggling due to the similar names, and if players accidentally refer to Broder as Brothir (to be clear, the correct answer is Broder), he yells about Eivor thinking he’s his brother. One is a resolution to the scene, the other is one for sheer laughs.

One saga in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sees the player helping a couple split up due to limitations on divorce and whatnot. Eivor ends up fake-kidnapping the wife, Estrid, and helping her escape back to her hoe of Francia. Near the end of the quest, players will have the chance to speak with Estrid on the coast before she’s gone for good (this is after fighting off King Aelfred’s men who found her). Players just need to strike up a conversation, ask her to share her dream, and that’s when the romance option becomes available.

During the Jotunheim quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players will have the opportunity to romance Gunlodr. It’s best to get the gift for her before heading to the Jotun camp, and after a few scenes, some drinking, and sneaking around, players can lay with Gunlodr…if for only a distraction.

After upgrading the settlement in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to level 2 and building the hunter’s hut, Petra will give Eivor some hunts for legendary animals. Completing them all unlocks a date with Petra, where players need to impress her with their bow and arrow skills, and that will lead to some steamy romance thereafter.

This romance appears late in the game, in the high-level area known as Snotinghamscire. Players pursuing the achievement for winning all flyts will eventually come across this romance naturally, where in Hemthorpe, players will find Stigr. Simply impressing him with Eivor’s flyting skills will open up some time between the sheets, so to speak.

Similar to Petra but much simpler, building the bakery in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s settlement will unlock missions for Tarben. This eventually leads to fishing and a possible romance.

After making Tewdwr the Ealdorman of Glowecestre, players can spend the night with him, drink a lot of mead, and do the do before becoming Ealdorman in full.

At the end of the Snotinghamscire arc, players will get to chat with Vili at a campfire. Vili will wonder if their friendship with Eivor has become more of a relationship, allowing players the chance to romance him if they so choose.

This is the the “last” romance players can come across; in fact, it becomes available after leveling up the settlement to tier 3 and getting so far in the story. Players will be able to go on a quest with Randvi, who is the wife of Eivor’s brother Sigurd. This is for her to get out of Ravensthorpe, where she’s felt somewhat trapped, and she will express feelings for Eivor. Players can shut her down then or choose to romance her; of course, while players will encounter a “does Sigurd know moment?” later,  players should be aware that this can influence which Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ending they get.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
