Respawn Entertainment has revealed the annual Holo-Day Bash event for Apex Legends. Last year, the event featured winter-themed cosmetics and a limited-time game mode called Winter Express that tasked teams to capture objective points on a train. This year, the train returns with a revamped LTM and new holiday-themed skins.
The Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash event is scheduled to start December 1 and will feature challenges to unlock the Holo-Day Bash collection. The Winter Express LTM will have three teams tasked with capturing five objective points located around the map, with the train being the central means of transportation. This year’s collection will feature brand new winter skins for Bloodhound, Crypto, Loba, Horizon, Rampart, and Revenant. Along with the new skins, the previous year’s collection is expected to be available as well.
After falling from the meta shortly after being introduced in Season 5, many fans felt Loba was neglected as a legend. However, Loba received a substantial buff going into Season 7, and now the Holo-Day Bash features a very unique legendary Loba skin. Her Holo-Day Bash skin is reminiscent of a winter queen, fit with an icicle crown and an elegant winter coat.
Revenant will also get an impressive winter-themed skin with possible inspiration coming from the Night King in Game of Thrones. Revenant’s skin makes him appear to be made out of ice and wood, while branches can be seen growing out of his shoulders. Both Revenant and Loba were not released during the previous Holo-Day Bash, so fans may be happy with their new skins.
Several of Apex Legends‘ most powerful weapons will also get the Holo-Day Bash treatment, including legendary skins for the Spitfire, the R-99, and the L-Star. Much like last year, weapon and legend cosmetics can be unlocked through challenges or purchased in the event store. This year, the event will also have a point system, with rewards all the way up to 4,000 points that can be earned by playing matches and completed challenges.
The Winter Express LTM will also feature new respawn hover tanks, which have been featured on the first map King’s Canyon. Last year, the Hol0-Day Bash featured a Mirage town takeover, which was held on a respawn hover tank as well. Previously, there was only one hover tank, but according to the trailer released by EA, there will be multiple hover tanks available to ride in this Winter Express LTM.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version arriving sometime next year.
