This is the Last Day To Watch The Office on Netflix | Game Rant

It’s been a very, very long and successful run for The Office on Netflix. The hit sitcom starring Steve Carrell has long been one of the most popular shows to watch on the streaming service, even surpassing Netflix originals like Stranger ThingsThe Office is so ridiculously omnipresent that it may very well be one of the most watched TV shows of all time, making it a very good selling point for a service like Netflix. However all things must someday end, and The Office will finally be leaving the service on December 31st of 2020.

Of course, The Office hardly needs any introduction; the show is so thoroughly baked into the fabric of American pop culture that it’d be hard to find someone who hasn’t heard of it at this point. It’s so popular and ubiquitous that sharing a favorite moment or gif from the show could be a universal icebreaker right up there with listing one’s favorite colors, and even still people just aren’t sick of it yet.

That’s partially due to the fact that the show is indeed very funny. It features Steve Carrell at arguably his best as the misguided but earnest Michael Scott in a mockumentary style series of workplace related foibles and misadventures along with all of his co-workers who each of their own bevy of quirks and personality conflicts. The show’s unique blend of absurd ideas contrasted with the mundanity of office life manages to squeeze every ounce of humor out of even the most cringingly awkward situations. At this point watching at least the first two seasons may as well be legally mandated for anyone who’s even seen a television at some point in their life.

But let’s say someone manages to locate and capture some sort of rare, endangered bird from some remote Pacific island beyond the jurisdiction of the pop-culture police: how would one show it The Office now? Well never fear, the show will be making its way to NBC’s Peacock streaming service along with all the rest of NBC’s programming, so that bird will also get the chance to understand thousands of internet references for the rest of its feathery life.
