There are few things in gaming more satisfying than completing a Destiny raid, and the Deep Stone Crypt in Destiny 2 should be no different. However, one unfortunate Destiny 2 bug is making gamers lose reward opportunities, and it seems like the glitch could be impacting a fairly large chunk of the Destiny community.
Despite a three-player Fireteam successfully completing Deep Stone Crypt, the raid is indeed challenging, requiring the same level of focus and teamwork that is demanded of players in other Destiny raids. However, Bungie’s recent “character raid reward fix” has come with an unexpected problem, making only one completion of the challenging Deep Stone Crypt worthwhile this week.
Some Destiny players may be better off watching Clan Luminous get the world’s first raid completion than replaying Deep Stone Crypt themselves, as only raid runs on one character will prove worthwhile. Bungie confirmed the news via a tweet on the BungieHelp account, saying that some players can “only acquire loot from the raid on one character this week.” This issue applies specifically to players that entered the raid “before the Weekly Reset,” with the issue extending to some players that “logged in between 9AM-5:35PM PST” on November 24.
This unfortunate bug could see a fair number of players benched come raid attempts, as it would be a bit wasteful to push through Deep Stone Crypt and get nothing for the effort. Players affected by the glitch that are looking to kill the time by grinding out Destiny 2’s loot cave are out of luck there as well, as Bungie has removed the delightful engram farm from the game. At least players know when a fix for the raid reward bug is coming, though, as Bungie has promised to have a solution for the problem next Tuesday.
For players who did not access the raid before the weekly reset and did not sign on during the specified window on November 24, completing the raid with multiple characters should still yield rewards. For everyone else, though, taking down the raid boss of Deep Stone Crypt more than once will have to wait. While one reward-yielding run on one character is still possible for the unfortunate players hurt by the bug, deep dives and countless runs of the new raid will not be viable until Tuesday.
Until players can effectively reap the rewards of Deep Stone Crypt once again, preparing some new strategies for the raid could be a good way to keep busy. After all, with Destiny 2 tank builds more viable than ever, there are plenty of ways to go about building a raid-ready Guardian.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
