Ever since Nintendo released Animal Crossing: New Horizons earlier this year, the game became a global phenomenon, achieving several sales milestones for Nintendo. Apart from its commercial success, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also getting recognition from players and critics. Just last week, The Game Awards revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the contenders for the huge Game of the Year Award.
Several retailers are now offering lower prices for the game for players who have been holding off purchase of Animal Crossing: New Horizons until its price gets reduced. However, it is worth noting that since Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a high-demand Nintendo game, the discount won’t be as much, but it is still a good purchase given all the countless hours of content it offers.
At the moment, Best Buy and Walmart are the only retailers offering a low price for Animal Crossing: New Horizons at $49.99, which is $10 cheaper than its current price of $59.99. Previously, Amazon offered the same price for the game, but it has now sold out, and Amazon shoppers can only get the game via third-party resellers, who are selling it for more than the MSRP. Although $49.99 is still expensive, it is worth noting that this is the lowest for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and players should take advantage of it now while stocks are still available.
For those wondering what has changed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons since its launch, it is worth remembering that Nintendo just released the game’s Winter Update, which is set to bring two new events, new visitors, and tons of content in the form of new resources and DIY materials. The first event that the Winter Update will introduce is Turkey Day, which is currently happening in the game. The next is the Toy Day event, which will commence on December 24th, and will see the return of Jingle the Reindeer on the island.
Meanwhile, for players looking for other Switch deals to get right now, several retailers are also offering deals on Switch consoles, games, and accessories. The highly-coveted Animal Crossing-themed Switch is also available in some stores, so players who have been eyeing that should purchase now before stocks run out again. Moreover, the Nintendo eShop offers discounts of up to 60% off on some of the biggest games on the Switch, both first-party games and third-party titles.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively on Nintendo Switch
