Latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Bug Removes Sprint Fire Delay

With a new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War bug or exploit being discovered every day, players are likely unphased when they see something not functioning properly in the game. Working around this latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War issue could be troublesome, though, as it gives users of the Gung-Ho perk a massive advantage.

Sprint-to-fire time is crucial in Call of Duty games, as it allows players to have their weapons ready to go in a gunfight quicker. Usually improved slightly through weapon attachments in Call of Duty loadouts, even the smallest tweaks to sprint fire delay can make a weapon feel stronger. However, for some odd reason, players can combine Gung-Ho with a Semtex grenade to fully eliminate the delay between sprinting and firing.

This new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War exploit was discovered by reddit user b3nb0i, and while it looks strange at first due to the odd angle with which the weapon is held, the trick could be effective on numerous maps. With Nuketown recently added to the game and more opportunities than ever for close-range encounters, the speed with which b3nb0i can be seen running and gunning across the map could be a major advantage for players. While the trick could be intentional on Treyarch’s part and not a bug, it seems unlikely given how awkward it looks and how strong it makes Gung-Ho.

The Redditor that shared the clip is making effective use of Black Ops Cold War’s MP5, and players looking to replicate the glitch should also use a close-range weapon. With ADS not being available via the sprint-fire glitch, the use of an SMG or shotgun is key. Beyond that, attachments that improve hipfire would also be incredibly helpful, making the glitch even more effective for the CoD players that are not against using it.

This Gung-Ho discovery is far from the only perk-related mishap seen in the new Treyarch title, as thousands of players have been impacted by the broken Flak Jacket perk. Allowing players to survive direct impact explosions from RPGs, grenades, and even the Cruise Missile scorestreak, the perk has become so overpowered that players have begged Treyarch for a fix. Thankfully, a Flak Jacket nerf may be coming, and there is a chance this Gung-Ho strategy is removed alongside it.

For players against the use of such an exploit, it is unclear when Treyarch will fix this deadly Semtex and Gung-Ho pairing. A safe bet would be Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1 rebalancing, though, as the major patch for the game is already set to fix numerous issues.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
