Apex Legends is a remarkable battle royale thanks to smooth and responsive gameplay, fun weapons, and a diverse group of Legends to play as. But Apex Legends is far from flawless, as the game is often hampered down by glitches. The most recent find makes it seem like Lifeline’s healing drone is invincible.
A video has popped up online showing that D.O.C., Lifeline’s trusty drone, seems to be unbreakable. The clip shows an Apex Legends player getting the jump on an enemy Lifeline and unloading an entire clip into her. But instead of doing major damage, the drone absorbed every shot.
Lifeline recently received a massive overhaul, making the character more viable than ever. While she received a new ability in being able to revive teammates with her drone D.O.C, the standard healing ability with D.O.C has remained the same. When she pulls the drone out, players around her will be able to be healed by attaching themselves to D.O.C. It’s meant to save players who are low on health, but it’s not meant to block incoming projectiles, which is what happened in a video posted on Reddit.
The interesting thing is that Lifeline’s passive ability is that she places a giant shield in front of her with the help of D.O.C. when working on a revive. This makes it possible to pick up a teammate in the open without the fear of being blasted away by enemies. So she already has at least one projectile blocking ability, D.O.C’s actual body isn’t really supposed to deflect bullets. Lifeline is already considered an A-Tier Legend in Apex Legends, even without this new buggy find.
Whether this is a glitch or something that is just a part of the game is really not yet known. D.O.C. becomes unusable after a few scenarios, including being stuck in the storm/ring or simply timing out. It would make sense for it to be disabled after being shot. If it is a glitch, it’s yet another bug for Season 7 of Apex Legends, some being silly and some being rather game-breaking.
Apex Legends receives constant content and updates from developer Respawn Entertainment. And while many are excited that the Winter Express LTM and Holo-Bash are returning in Apex Legends, there are some who would prefer some of the major issues to be worked on. Problematic net-code and sound issues have been prevalent since day one, and glitches seem to pop up all too frequently. For a game as a service style multiplayer game, there is certainly a difficult balance for the developer in providing fresh exciting content and making sure the game is balanced and bug-free.
Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version coming in 2021.
