After hitting Level 60 and selecting a Covenant in World of Warcraft‘s Shadowlands expansion, players will have the opportunity to make several upgrades to their Sanctums. One thing that fans can do through this upgrading is unlock a Command Table, which can be used to undertake Covenant Adventures. Participating in these Adventures is a great way for World of Warcraft players to earn some additional rewards, and this guide will detail how they should be approached.
To begin, the first thing that fans will see when they access the Shadowlands Command Table is a list of available Adventures, each of which has an associated level, rarity, duration, and set of rewards. While all of this information is important, WoW players may want to put their preliminary focus on the rewards that are available, isolating the Adventures that have the most desirable prizes (such as Soul Ash and Campaign progress). When that has been done, fans can look at those specific Adventures more closely to determine if taking them on is feasible.
To make that assessment, players should click through to their desired Covenant Adventure and direct their attention to the available Companions. These Companions can be found on the left side of the interface, and there are three different overarching types: Soulbinds, Allies, and Troops. Notably, players must add at least one Soulbind or Ally to an Adventure before they can start it, and dragging a unit of one of those types into an empty circle on the right is thus a good place to start.
From there, fans can begin filling in the other empty circles with other units, and it is important to mention that Anima can be spent to use Troops multiple times on a single Adventure. For clarity, this means that a player could technically tackle an Adventure with one Soulbind/Ally and four identical Troops, though that is not always the best strategy. That is because Companions are assigned specific roles, and players will need to consider those roles when selecting and placing their Adventurers.
More specifically, melee DPS units and tanks should be placed along the frontline, as those positions will allow them to both attack and defend the backline against opposing melee attackers. Ranged DPS units and healers, on the other hand, should be placed on the backline, keeping them protected while they perform their duties. After filling in all five empty spaces in this fashion, players should look at the health and damage values indicated at the top and bottom-right corners to determine if the party that they have created is likely to be successful.
To speak generally, this is done by dividing the opponent’s health value by the party’s damage value and then dividing the party’s health value by the opponent’s damage value. If the quotient of the first computation is lower than the quotient of the second, then that Adventure is probably worth pursuing. However, if the opposite is true then fans may want to setup a new party or simply look at another Adventure that is offered by their Shadowlands Covenant.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
