For those iPhone users that used to love playing Donut County but made the switch over to Android devices, there’s good news coming today. As of today, the popular indie game is available on all Android devices on the Google Play Store. Players can once again take control of a hole in the ground and solve puzzles, suck things up, and generally cause mayhem on Donut county,
For those that may have missed it, Donut County initially released in 2018 for iOS devices, even winning Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year award that year. The game was developed by Ben Esposito, known for his involvement in other great games like What Remains of Edith Finch, and is published by Annapurna Interactive, which players will recognize for their involvement in Outer Wilds and next year’s Stray.
Essentially, players take control of a small hole in the ground, capable of moving around and devouring objects small enough to fit inside. As they do, players can combine objects, shoot them back out, and use these techniques to solve various puzzles in the story. What’s more, players will also grow bigger as they continue to eat things, allowing them to devour even bigger objects in the world.
Donut County is available on the Google Play Store for $4.99, and has a full story as well. For that price, players will easily get their money’s worth out of the game, and being able to play it on Android now as well will open up the title to a brand new audience it previously couldn’t reach. As one of the premier indie games of 2018, Players should at least take a look at Donut County.
Donut County is available now on Android, Apple, PC, and PS4.
