It’s no secret that Genshin Impact has taken the world by storm, but now that claim has been backed up by several awards. The Google Play Store recently awarded it “Best Game of 2020,” “Users’ Choice,” and “Best Innovative Games,” and it also won the 2020 App Store Game of the Year award as well. In celebration of this, players can receive a total of 800 Primogems over the course of the next few days.
For those that aren’t certain what that means, Primogems are one of Genshin Impact‘s most important currencies. With it, players can purchase wishes that give them chances to unlock new characters and powerful weapons. Collecting Primogems is the name of the game for Genshin Impact players, so getting 800 free is a blessing.
These Primogems will be awarded to players’ accounts between December 3rd and December 6th, most likely in separate batches. Players will want to be sure they log on and check their mail so that they don’t miss anything and can use their Primogems ASAP.
In order to purchase wishes, players need to spend 160 Primogems on Acquaint or Intertwined Fates. This means that with the 800 free Primogems being given out right now, players can get five more free wishes to spend on whichever banner they want. Unfortunately, due to the low 5-star rates in Genshin Impact, this probably still won’t be enough to get players that 5-star character they’ve been dying to pull, but it should bring them that much closer to that goal.
Genshin Impact features a pity system, meaning if players make enough wishes and still don’t get lucky enough to get a 5-star, one will be given to them automatically. In the case of characters, the 90th wish players make on a specific banner will always be a 50-star character, so while these five free wishes may not seem like much, they’re bringing fans closer to that pity counter at the very least.
Needless to say, fans are thrilled about this development. Though Genshin Impact was very generous in giving away Primogems at launch, there’s been something of a drought since then in the gifts. With every announcement miHoYo made about a new award the game won, fans were asking to receive some kind of gift in return, and now it seems those prayers have finally been answered. Whether or not it was because of all these requests will likely never be known, but fans can enjoy the free Primogems regardless.
