Pokemon GO players are now able to catch certain Pokemon from the franchise’s Kalos region. While not all of them have been implemented yet, trainers can still find and catch a good handful of them.
The addition of these Pokemon in Pokemon GO was expected by fans after the implementation of Mega Evolution, a feature originally added in the sixth generation. While none of these Kalos natives are capable of performing Mega Evolution, they are still beloved Pokemon that many trainers will want to catch.
In total, there are 22 different Kalos Pokemon that have been added to Pokemon GO. Some may appear in the wild normally while others need to be hatched from eggs or fought as a raid boss.
As of December 2, 2020, these are all of the Kalos Pokemon that have been fully implemented in Pokemon GO that are also publicly available for all trainers:
- Chespin – Grass-Type
- Quilladin – Grass-Type
- Chesnaught – Grass and Fighting-Type
- Fennekin – Fire-Type
- Braixen – Fire-Type
- Delphox – Fire and Psychic-Type
- Froakie – Water-Type
- Frogadier – Water-Type
- Greninja – Water and Dark-Type
- Bunnelby – Normal-Type
- Diggersby – Normal and Ground-Type
- Fletchling – Normal and Flying-Type
- Fletchinder – Fire and Flying-Type
- Talonflame – Fire and Flying-Type
- Litleo – Fire and Normal-Type
- Pyroar – Fire and Normal-Type
- Espurr – Psychic-Type
- Meowstic – Psychic-Type
- Klefki – Steel and Fairy-Type
- Noibat – Flying and Dragon-Type
- Noivern – Flying and Dragon-Type
Out of all these Pokemon, only Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Fletchling, Litleo, Noibat, and Klefki will appear normally in the wild. Klefki, however, will only spawn for players who are located in the country of France, fitting with the inspiration of the Kalos region.
With Pokemon GO‘s egg hatchings, Bunnelby, Fletchling, and Litleo have a chance to hatch from 2 km eggs. Meanwhile, the Kalos starters, Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, can hatch from 5 km eggs. Finally, Espurr and Noibat have a chance to hatch from 10 km eggs.
In Pokemon GO’s current raids, Litleo and Espurr are serving as 1-star raid bosses. They will not provide much of a challenge, allowing players to more easily catch the new Pokemon.
Remaining Kalos Pokemon from the aforementioned list can only be obtained via evolving them from their pre-evolved forms. The only one of the currently implemented Kalos Pokemon that lacks any form of evolutionary line is Klefki.
In the coming months, more Kalos Pokemon are expected to be implemented, which will certainly shake of Pokemon GO’s PvP meta as it currently is. It will also likely bring many brand new raid bosses as more powerful Pokemon such as legendaries from the Kalos region are added.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
