Sneak is not only one of the most broken skills in The Elder Scrolls series, but one with the most potential for hilarity. Crouching directly in front of someone while having a high enough Sneak level to avoid detection never gets old as the unfortunate NPC bumps into the player’s form idiotically.
There are plenty of other comical happenings as well. Thankfully, many gamers have decided to share their own thoughts and experiences of stealthy shenanigans in Skyrim all over the internet on various image boards and discussion forums for the pleasure of all.
10 The Best Bluff
This man has clearly gone through the Thieves’ Guild questline multiple times. There are not many who would even attempt to trick others into thinking that a mere avocado was a grenade. To fool others into thinking a mere fruit was dangerous takes some real skills; likely max-level ones. That he managed to make off with some cash would make Nocturnal herself smile.
9 The Power Of Misdirection
The oldest trick in the book is on full display in this meme. Much like the test Brynjolf gives the Dragonborn in Riften upon their meeting before letting them join the Thieves’ Guild, these ducks take full advantage of human predictability. The ducklings draw attention while the duck with the greatest reach and highest skill performs the lift. A textbook robbery where no one will even know what has transpired.
8 “Stop, Criminal Scum!”
Everyone who has ever played Skyrim has had a negative run-in with the law at some point. Accidentally shouting at a chicken can result in some unwanted attention from the guards, and if the Dragonborn plays their cards wrong, they can end up on the run from the authorities. When such events occur, the quickest and easiest way out of it is to implement some stealth tactics and utilize the environment to one’s advantage during the escape.
7 The Best Illusions Fool Minds As Well As Eyes
Sometimes, when tricky situations arise, one may not have a good option. It is at these times that an illusionist’s skills are the most useful, for a great falsehood goes beyond merely tricking another’s eyes.
Making others believe that the image one has summoned is the reality can buy one a great deal of time. The time that the Dragonborn can use for any number of useful adaptations.
6 Hide And Seek Champions
Guards tend to rain on the parades of stealthy individuals everywhere, but they don’t always have the capacity to actually do anything about it. The darkness of night can veil the sneakiest Dragonborn from threats with ease if they are prepared. Some are likely wondering if any of these hide-and-seekers even found each other. Others still wonder if there were any there to even begin with.
5 The Most Secret Of Bases
Having high Illusion and Sneak skill levels is all well and good but if one does not implement them effectively they are simply squandering their potential. Not like this person who has created one of the best one-person secret bases ever. No one passing by would ever think that there was a small room concealed in this singular hedge. With such a perfect hiding place, one could evade any and all threats with the utmost ease.
4 When A Master Becomes A Teacher
Similar to how the Dragonborn can ascend from a mere initiate of the Thieves’ Guild’s to becoming the leader, this teacher has gone from being someone skilled in their craft to being someone in a position of authority.
Sculpting the minds of those less experienced via whatever method they see fit can keep one’s students on their toes and prepared to expect the unexpected. Those taught the ways of Sneak will be more likely to inherit the skills themselves for a whole new generation of stealthy ones to arise.
3 Cats Are Masters Of Stealth
Those of the highest Sneak skills have the ability to hide in plain sight. Cats, being naturally gifted in this manner, tend to make use of their immense prowess often without even trying. It’s as if by instinct they understand the intrinsic potential to go unnoticed in any and all surroundings. These are things the Dragonborn can learn a thing or two about from watching any feline master at work. It should be mentioned that the Khajiit likely possess some of these intrinsic skills and are a great race for those looking to start a Sneak-oriented playthrough.
2 How To Enjoy Dank Memes During A Dull Class
Stealth skills can be applied in all aspects of life. Utilizing the ability to direct someone’s attention away from something one does not want them to see can leave the Dragonborn free to do as they please with little consequence, if any at all. All one needs to do to pull off this feat themselves is to wear any kind of upper body garment with long sleeves and at least one object to obscure where their hand should be.
1 Sam Porter Bridges Has Played Skyrim
There are stealth mechanics in Death Stranding as well. Despite not having a skill tree or specific perks that one can level up, there are some similarities between the sneaking one can do in both this Kojima game and Skyrim. For example, crouching and having one’s hitbox at least slightly obscured is enough to fool most enemies. Even with many deliveries poking up over the top of the vegetation one is using to conceal themselves, foes are none the wiser.
