The newest character in Apex Legends, Horizon, has quickly become a fan favorite thanks to her gravitational manipulator abilities and quirky personality. The legend was introduced in Season 7 along with the new map Olympus and has received very positive feedback from fans. One artist has created an impressive cosplay of the new Season 7 legend.
SFX and makeup artist “itlookslikekilled” has shared many incredibly detailed cosplays on Instagram. The artist is most known for very realistic Dragon Ball Z cosplays, but has dressed up as many different pop culture characters including Apex Legends Season 5 legend Loba, Dragon Ball Z‘s Trunks, Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings stories, and many more.
Horizon’s outfit looks almost like a futuristic astronaut suit with various tubes and metal plating throughout, which makes sense considering Horizon was exploring black holes before entering the Apex Legends arena. The artist’s cosplay did not miss any details in the outfit, as the cosplay outfit is also fit with tubes and metal exactly how the Apex Legends character model looks. The artist’s outfit is the same teal color complete with red accents, Horizon’s signature goggles, and even has two pieces of equipment holstered that Horizon throws to activate her Gravity Lift ability.
Horizon has quickly become one of the most played characters in Apex Legends. Her Gravity Lift ability allows for mobility and reaching high ground, and her ultimate Black Hole ability is troublesome for any team. Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein recently shared that in Season 7, Horizon is the third most-played legend behind Bloodhound and Wraith. While new legends usually are highly picked characters during their debut season, many fans have attached to Horizon, so it is possible she remains one of the most popular legends.
Apex Legends has inspired tons of cosplays. Each character has a unique look, personality, and outfit, so fans can get really creative with the cosplays. Former WWE wrestler Zelina Vega is known for her impressive video game cosplays and has dressed up as Apex Legend‘s Loba, and even made a WWE ring appearance dressed as a Mortal Kombat character.
Apex Legends characters also have various legendary skins, altering their appearance and outfit, which has inspired even more cosplays for each legend. Wraith notable has very unique legendary skins including the fan-favorite Voidwalker and Void Specialist skins. As new legends and legendary skins are released, more and more artists are producing cosplay outfits so incredibly detailed that they could be featured in a live-action blockbuster movie.
Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version coming in 2021.
