A new teaser trailer for Season 10 of PUBG has released, showing off a dark new map. Last week, the official PUBG Twitter account announced its volcano-centered Paramo map would be going away after Season 9. Many liked the dynamic nature of the map, how it kept each match unique with different sites and lava flowing in different directions. Many are hoping the new map being teased will have a similarly unique feature.
The trailer is a follow-up to the first PUBG Season 10 teaser, which featured a player running through a partially-destroyed concrete sewage tunnel. This one shows a player making a dramatic leap off a building while a bright searchlight shines on them. The trailer then goes slow-mo to reveal a giant armored truck scanning the dark and foggy street below. The map looks to be urban, and features a concrete highway overpass, like an abandoned or post-apocalyptic city.
The trailer then shows another player pointing a gun out a broken window before the first player pulls the cord on their parachute. During that moment, what sounds like police chatter can be heard, which helps paint a picture of the map possibly surrounding a police-state. The trailer ends with the season’s new slogan, “HIDE SEEK SURVIVE,” and confirmation that the season will begin December 16 on PC, and December 17 on consoles.
The OG battle royale game is still going strong, having just added dirt bikes and a massive buff to pistols a few weeks ago. The pistol buffs seem to be a hit with fans, leading to one player posting a 16-kill win using nothing but the dirt bike and pistols.
The game has also gotten a massive next-gen upgrade that allows the game to run at 60 FPS on the new Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The update includes cross-platform play and cross-progression between all platforms.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
