Fortnite is well into Chapter 2 of its content and still deep in the Marvel crossover. There’s always something new going on in the popular battle royale, from adding Kratos and making him dance to driving around the map in sporty cars at breakneck speeds. As part of the new Season 5 challenges, players will have to drive this fancy car around the map, hitting 88 MPH.
Some Fortnite players who were around last Season will notice that this challenge is pretty familiar. Tony Stark has been a big part of the Marvel crossover so far, with his hidden Lake House Lab in Fortnite and other Iron Man-themed locations on the map. His car, the Whiplash, was also a big part of the crossover last season; in Season 4, there were Tony Stark’s Awakening Challenges to unlock his emote, and one of them was to drive a Whiplash at 88 MPH.
Fortunately for this season, players don’t have to be wearing Stark’s skin in order to complete this challenge; they can just drive the car in whatever skin they happen to be in at the time.
Next, players have to find one of the Whiplash locations. The best location in Season 4 for finding a Whiplash was at Stark Industries where players had to open the vault, but unfortunately, this is no longer an option because of the map changes for Season 5. Thankfully, most of the Whiplash locations from Season 4 are still viable; just stick to ones on the outside of the new map.
Players looking for the Whiplash should make sure to avoid all the central areas of the Season 5 Fortnite map that are now desert areas, and should most likely not try to drive through these areas, either. Players will need a fairly long stretch of road with no sand covering it. The best place to start looking both for the car and the long stretch of road is actually Sweaty Sands; there is a Whiplash or two still there, and a long stretch of road heading both east and west out of town.
Once Fortnite players have gotten behind the wheel, they’ll notice that car is fast with a lot of turbo. Getting it up to speed 88 is pretty easy; just put the pedal to the metal and keep on the road. It should only take a few seconds to get to top speed of 120 MPH with the turbo on, and then the challenge should be marked as completed.
After that, players can move onto some of the other new challenges, including finding gnomes around the map in Fortnite.
Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
