The second Call of Duty Endowment Annual C.O.D.E. Bowl has been announced. The event is being sponsored by the USAA and will be an esports competition hosted in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Teams will compete in a tournament-style competition throughout a series of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War maps.
The charity event will be the first-ever Trans-Atlantic military esports competition, making it a historical occasion. The Call of Duty Endowment will use this event to raise funds to put towards veteran employment, and add to the massive impact the Endowment has had on thousands of veterans’ lives. The event will be taking place on December 11, 2020.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War esport teams from all five US Department of Defense military branches and the UK’s British Army, Royal Air Force, and Royale Navy will be competing this year. As an added special bonus, the US Marine Corps, US Air Force, and the US Space Force will compete as separate teams. Each of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War teams will be captained by a “popular Call of Duty streamer,” which will be teamed up with top influencers and service members from the US and UK.
So far, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War streamers include Courage, LEGIQN, Huskerrs, Swagg, Espresso, Vikkstar, Tommy, C9Emz, and Spratt. As days continue to progress closer towards the event, more streamers will be announced to promote this charity organization.
In addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War content, Ram Trucks are part of the event. Ram is giving away a 2021 Ram 1500 Built To Serve special edition truck to one of the veterans placed into a job through the Call of Duty Endowment’s efforts. Additional sponsorship includes Scuf Controllers, and all proceeds from this event will be going towards the Endowment.
To date, the Call of Duty Endowment has funded and placed more than 77,000 veterans into high-quality employment. The organization hopes to reach 100,000 vets placed into meaningful jobs by 2024. At an estimate, the Endowment’s 2019 cost to place a veteran in a job was $499, which is only a sixth of the US Department of Labor’s reported cost.
Interested fans will be given ample opportunity to donate to the Call of Duty Endowment during the event. The C.O.D.E Bowl is scheduled to begin at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm GMT on December 11th.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
