Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Player Finds Legendary Spy Tool The Glove Pistol

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is full of strange and interesting Easter eggs. While some are more obvious than others, one player has found a rather interesting piece of 1960s history hidden in the game environment. While it is not an official Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapon, it does have an interesting story in international espionage.

The Glove Pistol is a rather well-known piece of spy equipment designed during WWII. While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may be taking place in the 80s, the Glove Pistol is a piece of war-time spy gear used in unique situations.

The glove was found by Reddit user ArchdemonofRazgriz who found it sitting next to a coffee cup. While not a usable weapon in the game, it is interesting that it would be hiding in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War CIA safe house among many other “spy” related gear. Many fans consider this a small Easter egg, but some players are still holding out hope that this weapon will be used in future updates. It could make for an interesting melee weapon in the game, and with the naval themed maps, it would not be completely out of place.

Historically the Glove Pistol is called the Sedgley OSSS.38. The weapon was a single-shot pistol designed for Naval Intelligence and covert assassination missions in the Pacific Theater. The weapon is a small gun mounted to the back of a cowhide glove that could be discharged via a solid punch against the target’s body. Traditionally they were sold as single gloves, which is why there is only one appearing in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

As a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Easter egg, it could easily be a reference to the film Inglourious Basterds as it played a prominent role in the film’s climax. Two of these weapons are used to eliminate targets as the characters assassinated Nazi high command members.

While it is unknown its exact purpose, it still fits the theme of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s espionage based campaign. In a spy and intrigue world, concealed weapons can easily be a vital and powerful tool in any operation. Why it is sitting out in the open will continue to remain a mystery, but many fans are just happy to see such a unique piece of history added to the fictional war environment.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
