Genshin Impact has had an eventful fall, with several literal events taking place in-game, and figurative events, like the game’s massive Version 1.1 update coming into play as well. While fans expect the next major patches to arrive later this month, and after the new year, miHoYo still has some holiday festivities in store for its players.
Travelers will be able to participate in the “While It’s Warm” event this December in Genshin Impact. Throughout the course of one week, players will have the opportunity to lend a hand to all of Teyvat’s hottest restaurants, in exchange for valuable Primogems, and of course, honor.

The While It’s Warm event seems to be the recently teased Genshin Impact food delivery event that was supposed to arrive somewhat together with the Gliding Challenge event currently underway. Players have had a general picture of the event, that is, that it will task players with food-delivery-related challenges in exchange for rewards. Aside from that though, players have had no information to go off of.
Though miHoYo hinted at the food delivery event in a previous update announcement, a recent post has finally confirmed and revealed the alleged food delivery event. While It’s Warm will take place from December 11, 2020 at 10:00 (Server Time), to December 18, 2020 at 3:59 (Server Time), and the basic premise is as follows: the Wangshu Inn of Liyue, Good Hunter, and Wanmin Restaurant, are all facing an unprecedented amount of food delivery orders. Travelers will have three different opportunities per day of the event to assist one of these three locales with a food delivery order.
Upon completing the all three daily deliveries, and following the given parameters for each one, players will earn a bundle of Primogems. It’s unclear if each delivery task bears its own rewards, but the event’s official announcement stipulates that players will earn Primogems for fulfilling “all three orders in a day.”
Coupled with the ongoing Genshin Impact Gliding Challenge event, players should be able to collect a sizable amount of Primogems this month. The precious stones can be exchanged for Wishes in the in-game shop, and those Wishes are the game’s only source of new five-star characters and weapons. So even if food delivery isn’t a player’s cup of tea, this event is probably worth reserving some time for.
And despite current issues with Zhongli and paywalls, players can be sure that miHoYo will continue adding new characters and the like to the game, which is to say, even if there’s nothing seemingly worth Wishing for at the moment, these Primogems will surely become useful at some point in time. And even for the players content with free-to-play characters, these gems can instantly refresh the Original Resin required to reap dungeon rewards, so nonetheless – they’re useful.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for Switch and PS5.
