Cyberpunk 2077 Best Cyberware | Where to find top-tier tech

In the world of Cyberpunk 2077 you can find state-of-the-art Cyberware around nearly every corner, with this genre-defining system offering enhancements to your vision, athletic ability, and prowess in a fight.

There are tons of different modifications to choose from at your friendly neighborhood Ripperdoc, but which ones are worth your hard-earned cash? Here are some of our picks for the best Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077.

Where to find and install Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077

While you can pick up pieces of Cyberware as loot throughout your adventure, you can’t just go under the knife and install it on the go.

The main place you’ll be tinkering with Cyberware is in the office of one of Night City’s many Ripperdocs. These specialised surgeons know everything there is to know about the futuristic modifications you can make to your body, and every one of them is qualified to carry out the necessary work.

Check your map and look for the forceps icon to find the closest Ripperdoc to you.

However: be sure to shop around as you visit different parts of the city. Just as different clothes shops stock different items in Cyberpunk 2077, you can find new and exciting Cyberware in different clinics around Night City.

If you pass one, be sure to take a peep at their stock.

Once you’ve found a Ripperdoc, simply speak to them and you’ll be able to install any of your owned Cyberware, or their available stock – if you’ve got the cash and Street Cred that is.

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Cyberware

  • Dermal Armour

It’s not the most exciting, but the Dermal Armour is a cheap and useful basic Cyberware implant that you can probably afford early on in the game.

Generally, it boosts your base armour by a few points, as if you were wearing a whole extra item of clothing.

  • Smart-Link Grip

The Smart-Link Grip, which lets you use auto-targeting Smart weapons, is actually free. You just need to remember to pick it up.

After you’ve completed “The Heist”, head to Westbrook and speak to Wakako in the quest called “The Gig” in your journal.

She’ll give you a free pass for a Smart-Link tattoo at a Ripperdoc in the north of the City.

  • Mantis Blades and Gorilla Arms

Once you reach 20 Street Cred, you can purchase one of the coolest Cyberware upgrades in the game – basically robot arms that let you beat people up better.

They come in two skews: Mantis Blades, which are part of the Blades and Reflexes Attribute, and the Gorilla Arms, which come under Body.

Depending on what kind of character you’re running, these are an essential pick-up on any playthrough.

The Mantis Blades give you the ability to lunge towards your opponents and slice up unaware victims. While the Gorilla Arms are pretty much required for the street brawling side quests.

  • Synaptic Accelerator

If you want to create a stealth character build, then this Cyberware is an absolute must. The Synaptic Accelerator Nervous System upgrade slows down time when you’re spotted by an unaware enemy.

This gives you a few vital seconds to scoot back into cover, or move past their field of view entirely. It’s a little overpowered to be honest, but makes taking the quiet route a lot less punishing.

  • Heal-on-Kill

Even though Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the most difficult game, you often get into fights where your health slowly gets chipped away, or you forget to heal after one battle and go into the next half-cocked.

You can effectively counter this by purchasing the Heal-on-Kill Cyberware, which restores a portion of your health every time you defeat an enemy. Keeping you healthy without having to break off to use a Bounce-Back.

Some cheaper options, which are still great, restore 3% of your health every time. Whereas you can get much more expensive and powerful versions.

There’s also a Stamina version, which is very useful for melee characters who make more use of their Stamina Bar.

  • Reinforced Tendons (Double Jump)

This Cyberware starts to appear towards the end of Act 2 in the game, and is a brilliant addition to your arsenal.

Not only does it make traversal much easier, but you can run about much more quickly when you spam the double jump – essentially making this a huge buff to your sprint speed as well.

The double jump also gives you a huge amount of extra options when stalking and stealthing around open areas, and is just great fun in general; highly recommended.
