Cyberpunk 2077: How to Free Brick | Game Rant

Cyberpunk 2077 is all about choices, and the game will make that very clear early on during the quest titled The Pickup. Partway through this main job, players will have an optional objective to free Brick from his cell, but this is going to be a bit more difficult than it sounds naturally. Though Cyberpunk will take a while to beat, this quest is early on in the story.

The Pickup is the fourth quest during Cyberpunk 2077‘s Act 1, and so players that haven’t made it that far in the story don’t need to worry about whether or not they’d like to save Brick. For those that are there, likely staring at him in his cell wondering what to do next, there are two primary methods to free him.

The first method will require a bit of tech knowledge, so players that invested in that can always take this route. Thankfully, freeing Brick isn’t locked behind this type of character build in Cyberpunk 2077, as all players can free him if they know where to look. Of course, this alternate method takes a bit longer, but is essentially free.

If using tech, the first thing players will want to do is hack the keypad next to the cell door between the player and Brick. Using Remote Deactivation for the cost of 2 RAM should open the door and give the player access to Brick. Players will quickly notice a laser pointed at Brick which, if interrupted, will cause him and likely the intruder to explode. The next step is to target the actual mine and disarm it for the cost of 2 RAM yet again.

For those players that didn’t upgrade tech related stats in Cyberpunk 2077, they can also find the door code to Brick’s cell as well. To the right of Brick’s cell, players can pass through the door into a room with an accessible laptop. Search through the computer’s messages and find the message titled “only you guys know,” as the code to the cell is in there. The code is 9691, and now that players have the door open, they need to handle the mine. In the corner of that same room, players will find a detonator that they can then disarm. This doesn’t require any skills to do, and will finally see Brick freed.

Killing Brick doesn’t net the player any loot, so there’s really no reason not to save him. After being rescued, Brick promises the player that he’ll have their back the next time they run into each other, something that will pay off in a future mission of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
