Genshin Impact Celebrates Game Awards With More Free Primogems

With only roughly three months under its belt, Genshin Impact is still very much in its opening stages. As such, players are still being treated to rather frequent gifts from the game’s developer, miHoYo, and with its recent Game Awards 2020 accolades, the generosity only grows.

Genshin Impact recently secured nominations for both Best Mobile Game and Best Role Playing categories in The Game Awards 2020. To celebrate these achievements, miHoYo has decided to extend their previous gift of 200 daily Primogems for an additional four days.

That’s right – after receiving 800 Primogems in honor of Genshin Impact‘s App Store 2020 Awards Game of the Year win, players will now receive another 800 Primogems. This time, to celebrate the two Game Awards 2020 nominations recently earned by the game.

If the rewards work in the same way as the last batch of 800 Primogems, Travelers should simply expect to receive a very brief note from miHoYo/Paimon every day of the event, each containing 200 Primogems. This time, the event will run from December 11 to December 15, 2020, so players should be sure to login on each of those days if they want to ensure they collect the full 800 Primogem reward.

The nominations, along with the game’s App Store Awards win, highlight Genshin Impact‘s success in 2020. The game arrived as a relative surprise to the gaming scene, fusing two controversial-but-beloved systems -gacha and open-world RPG- into a free-to-play alternative to game’s like Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But despite controversies with recent characters like Zhongli, and issues with the game’s inherent monetization, fans clearly appreciate miHoYo’s anime-inspired attempt at open-world MMO fun.

With regard to this incoming set of gems: if players are already stocked up on Primogems, or are simply looking for more immediate rewards, they should also check their in-game inboxes for a message from miHoYo. A new “satisfaction survey” is available to all players, and upon completion, Travelers will receive 30,000 mora for free. Given the escalating costs of Talent, Weapon, Character, and Artifact Ascension (and Enhancement), larger sums of mora should be especially welcome to players.

Aside from this survey and the upcoming Primogems, Travelers should also look out for the game’s newest big update and region: Dragonspine. Now officially confirmed by the Genshin Impact Game Awards 2020 trailer, Dragonspine will be introduced to the game on December 23, alongside characters like the alchemist Albedo, and Liyue’s own cocogoat, Ganyu.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
