Players have found many hilarious glitches in Apex Legends since its release in February 2019. In Season 7, a few flying glitches have been found, including a couple with the new Season 7 character Horizon. Now, one fan has shared a glitch that apparently breaks the Olympus map height limit.
Combining different legend abilities together in Apex Legends sometimes produces surprising exploits, including a past glitch where Pathfinder was able to fly around endlessly attached to Crypto’s drone. Now, it seems fans have found a similar exploit with Pathfinder, Caustic, and Octane. In a clip shared on Reddit, Pathfinder is seen flying higher than ever before with the help of Caustic and Octane’s abilities.
Octane’s ultimate ability allows him to place a jump pad, which can be used to jump large distances. Caustic’s tactical ability places gas traps, which when placed on Octane’s jump pad, apparently shoot endlessly into the sky. Pathfinder can then grapple onto the gas trap and take a speedy trip into the air above the Olympus map. In the clip, Pathfinder holds on to the gas trap for nearly a minute while continuously rising above the map and after letting go, the player is able to safely freefall back onto the map.
The hilarious glitch was addressed by Respawn developer Daniel Klein, who commented on the clip saying, “Somewhere in the universe, an environment artist just cried out in pain.” Pathfinder has been involved in a number of entertaining glitches due to his abilities, but this one may take the cake. While Apex Legends typically has a height limit that when reached, triggers a 30-second countdown before eliminating the player, it seems this glitch ignores the rule and allows Pathfinder to reach much higher.
Season 7 of Apex Legends also introduced vehicles called Tridents. Much like any new features in Apex Legends, players have also found a glitch that allows Tridents to soar high in the air. Using Octane’s jump pad under a respawn beacon or an open supply bin, players have been able to launch Tridents into the skies of Olympus. Both glitches result in hilarious experiences, but can also provide an unfair competitive advantage by covering large distances or seeing teams from miles in the air.
Apex Legends has just crossed the halfway point of the season with the Holo-Day Bash event still happening until January 4th. Since the glitch has already caught the attention of an Apex Legends developer, it will most likely be patched out when the event ends at the latest.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version arriving sometime next year.
