One of the most attractive features in Fortnite is the ability to customize the player’s avatar using the most elaborate, creative skins ever. There are so many to unlock, earn, and buy in the game with new ones being released every month. 2020 has seen some incredible designs from the cool getups of the multiple bosses scattered throughout the map to new Marvel-themed outfits.

Fans of the game could agree that choosing the best skins to buy or work toward is getting tougher and tougher as each new release comes out. Though there have been some pretty epic rewards throughout the existence of Fortnite, some of the best skins of all time have been available in 2020. Here are some of the best ones so far.

Updated December 17th, 2020 by Juliet Childers: By now, Fortnite has released so many skins that it’s impossible to pick just one as a fan favorite. There were dark horses like Bushranger and Guff vs. themed skins such as Raven and Scourge. But the list of the best Fortnite skins from 2020 has to include a select few featured in the shop, from the Battlepass, and from promotions. Which fan favorites made the cut?

15 Midas

The golden-skinned Midas is the boss that patrols the grounds in the Agency — the once highly-guarded Ghost fortress that lay smack dab in the middle of the map. He could be taken down so players could obtain his vault keycard and his legendary Midas drum gun. His epic outfit could only be earned by Season 12 Battle Pass players once they hit Tier 100 and can be worn in different styles.

Players can opt for his mostly human tattooed form to his fully solid gold form. Fans of the Midas skin will also probably enjoy the startingly Among Us-like mode in Fortnite.

14 Cyclo

The awesome outfit of Cyclo released in the summer of 2020, invoking Mysterio from the recent Spiderman: Far From Home film. The iconic figure looks like a human version of the purple storm that Fortnite fans know and fear.

His head is a swirling vortex of the storm held under a big glass helmet. His electric body is covered by a futuristic metal outfit with attached gear. The outfit also comes with Cyclo’s Windshear Cloak which makes the character even spookier and more mystical.

13 Rippley Vs. Sludge

This adorable yet eerily unsettling skin was first released with the Season 11 Battle Pass and players could unlock it at Tier 20. However, the bright blue blobby character can still be found in an average Fortnite match. This makes him one of the most loved and represented unlockable skins from the 2019-2020 Season 11.

There’s just something about that giant bulky liquid body and floating face with tiny beady eyes and an adorable smile that makes the character so appealing.

12 Moxie

Many fans appreciate the unique stylings of Moxie — and not just for her two forms. Her outfit is classified as rare and was released as a part of the TKO set. Moxie walks the line between cute and hardcore, so she can match a player’s mood easily.

She can rock a shiny teal outfit with matching blue face paint and ponytails or she can be dressed up in a black and red hooded romper. Either way, she looks totally hardcore and ready to knock someone out. Her outfit also comes with a punching glove backpack attachment that is too cute to boot.

11 Agent Peely

This banana headed agent is the first skin players unlocked from the Season 12 Battle Pass. The banana man sports a snazzy tuxedo that is sure to turn some heads and drop some jaws. Fans of the character can also unlock and equip other fruit-themed items and skins.

This includes the banana bomber, bananaxe, banana briefcase, and Spy VS. Banana wallpaper if they just really love the healthy yellow snack. Players can even swap out his classic black tuxedo with a white one if they feel like it. Of course, if a player sees an all-gold Peely running around, they might want to avoid the no-doubt skilled player.

10 Airhead

This rare character outfit doesn’t look like it belongs in a shoot-em-up style game, considering its head is an inflated red balloon that looks ready to pop at any moment. The skin resembles a training field’s sparring dummy with its makeshift body parts and giant painted target on its chest.

The multi-color scheme, non-human elements, and flashy details make Airhead really stand out from other skins. Usually selling for 1,200 V-bucks, Airhead pops into the store every now and again.

9 Deadpool

Who wouldn’t want to run around killing enemies while dressed as the ever famous Deadpool? The iconic red outfit the wacky, fourth-wall-breaking comic book character is most known for is classified as a Marvel Fortnite Outfit that is a part of the Deadpool set.

Though there are other variations of his outfit available at times, such as Cuddlepool and Ravenpool, this outfit is the ultimate classic that everyone knows and loves. There are different styles, as well, such as the grey suit and mask vs. no mask. This won’t be the last Marvel-themed skin on this list, but it has been leaked that Fortnite will start including DC characters now, too.

8 Oro

The skeleton skin Oro is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit that originally was released back in March of this year as a part of the Midas’ Revenge set. He rocks a set of gold jewelry over his golden bones and decaying clothes that gives him the coolest and creepiest demeanor.

Oro comes available to the V-bucks store frequently but costs 2,000 smackers. Oro’s vibe is also distinctly different from the recent The Walking Dead and zombie skins. His character is the best skin to rock for those who love the undead and looking like a filthy rich king.

7 Travis Scott

Those who played Fortnite back in April 2020 will definitely remember the Travis Scott hype that swarmed the platform for over a week straight. The Houston rapper debuted a new single through the video game with a trippy and immersive digital concert experience.

The release of his song came with new Travis Scott-themed skins, including a free roller coaster parachute and access to nab an outfit to look exactly like the artist himself. Rumor has it that the artist scored $20 million for the Fortnite concert which is no paltry sum for a digital appearance.

6 Meowscles

This skin is truly one of the more creative and head-turning options. Meowscles is a giant cat-man humanoid hybrid with giant muscles and a very dorky, small face. The character is topless to show off his bulging set of abs which makes the outfit an instant must-have or a must-avoid for fans of the game.

This outfit became available through the Season 12 Battle Pass and is unlocked once players hit Tier 60. He is also an in-game boss that players can defeat to use his legendary weapon and obtain his vault keycard.

5 Kratos

The new generation of gods Kratos took down were in the Norse pantheon including characters like Odin. Though the new Kratos is technically the old Kratos, he looks a bit different than he used to. But fans can live out their Ghost of Sparta dreams while teaming with friends in Battle Royale.

The bundle also comes with unique back bling in the form of Mimir’s head, his signature axe, the guardian shield glider, and a custom emote. It is, by far, one of the best Fortnite skins ever released to date.

4 Captain America

Another iconic character, Captain America dropped into the Fortnite store on July 23rd, 2020. The design borrowed from classic comic book designs and the new look from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Fan instantly fell in love with the skin and it remains a favorite.

The skin also regularly reappears in the shop, unlike some other popular skins. The skin includes Captain America’s classic shield that bears a few paint chips around the edges for character.

3 Mave

Mave appears on the Season 15 Battle Pass along with the Mandalorian skin. Not only is her base design really cool overall, but she also has many unlockable styles including Unstoppable Mave, Sapphire Mave, and Zero Point Mave. She has this Assassin’s Creed vibe about her with unique pauldrons, snake hair, and a giant forearm knife.

Next to Mando and Mancake, she’s the best skin in the season’s Battle Pass and rivals the uniqueness and detail of promotional skins like Kratos or Travis Scott. Fans can easily reach the Shieldbreaker level at Tier 53 to unlock many of her extra styles.

2 Storm/Ororo

There are few characters from the X-Men catalog as recognizable and loved as Storm. Also known as Ororo Munroe, she is a tribal princess of Kenya with claustrophobia and is skilled in pickpocketing. Oh and she can control the weather, use magic, and is an adept hand-to-hand combatant, too.

She was the first major black woman in comics and espoused innate power, grace, confidence, and empathy in everything she did. She also has an excellent punk design which fans could unlock apart from her classic 90s animated series look in white.

1 Master Chief

“My good friend!” must have been what fans said when they logged into Fortnite to see the Spartan in the shop. Though the skin launched with a buggy version of Blood Gulch, the Master Chief bundle was an instant-success among Fortnite fans. It includes a UNSC Pelican glider, a Lil’ Warthog emote, and a Gravity Hammer for harvesting.

As with Kratos, this is one of the best crossover skins Fortnite has ever released. It also never gets old making Master Chief dance to the “I’m a Kitty” dance.
