10 Awesome Side Quests Hidden In Cyberpunk 2077 | Game Rant

New players hopping into Cyberpunk 2077 should prepare themselves for a ton of side missions. Many of these aren’t automatic calls from clients straight to V, but rather markers on the map that V needs to investigate independently. Those looking for side missions should look for question mark symbols on the map and head over to the location.

Side missions aren’t obligatory, but some of them that involve major characters will influence the type of ending the player can have. However, these hidden, fun, and sometimes ridiculous side missions are bound to be both entertaining and full of great rewards if one manages to find them.

10 Coin Operated Boy

This quest becomes available after V has survived the consequences of Act 1. Head over to The Glen in Heywood and walk over to Megabuilding H8. Inside, there should be a very peculiar machine called Brendan. Interact with him and the quest will begin.

The quest can’t be completed all at once. It involves waiting in between and then coming to find Brendan again. Eventually, Brendan will be moved to a different location, which will send V on a hunt for him. It’s not a quest with great rewards, but it’s definitely fun and extremely unique.

9 War Pigs

There’s a special treat for any corpo lifepath Vs out there who still have an immensely bad taste in their mouths about what Abernathy did to them. At some point, Frank, an old friend from Arasaka will call V and ask them to join forces to take down Abernathy. Meet Frank at the set location.

Unfortunately, things don’t quite pan out as planned, as is often the case in Night City. Still, it’s nice to see these quests that refer to the actual introductory part of V’s lifepath pop up later on in the game. Maybe in the future, corpo Vs will finally have the opportunity to get real revenge.

8 Burning Desire

The low danger level job will be available around Act 2, and is located outside an apartment complex in Little China of Watson. The place is easy to recognize, because as soon as V approaches the scene a man in extreme pain holding his crotch will approach them.

The client has installed a faulty black market version of cyberware between their legs and needs immediate medical attention. For a funny and bizarre side quest that doesn’t require V to sweat that much, this is a hilarious one to do, and pretty well hidden, too.

7 The Prophet’s Song

Players will no doubt interact with Garry outside of Misty’s Esoterica around Act 1 and Act 2 of the game. It’s hard to miss him, but many players will end up not actually completing the quest related to him. To help Garry, make sure to listen to five of Garry’s conspiracy theories. Depending on which other main or side missions the player has done, some interactions with Garry will be different. Don’t forget to give him the biggest donations, too.

Garry needs V’s help to defend himself from the nomads. If he’s successfully protected, he’ll tell V where to find a mysterious chip which needs to be decoded. This unlocks an interaction with Garry’s follower.

6 Stadium Love

If funny or weird side missions sound like a waste of time, there are also plenty of hidden quests with very real rewards. One of them also deals with an infamous gang known as the 6th Street. Head over to Rancho Coronado, where a loud party needs to be investigated by V.

Speak to the leader of the gang and V will have the opportunity to play a shooting game. If they score 44 points or more, the leader will reward V with an Epic-tier unique weapon known as Divided We Stand. It’s also cool to finally have a real, peaceful interaction with a gang.

5 Big In Japan

Those looking for funny Easter eggs, the Big In Japan quest gives players just that. Fans of The Office in particular will be amused by this quest which can be surprisingly tricky early into the game. At the Afterlife, find a man known as Dennis who’s offering a job to find a fridge with No Future written on it in Kabuki.

The whole area will be crowded by Tyger Claws, and as V opens the fridge the insides turn out to be an unconscious man. Wipe out the Tyger Claws and bring the man to the drop point in order to receive an Epic-tier katana melee weapon named Scalpel.

4 Losing My Religion

It’s pretty evident the Maelstrom are one of the craziest, most horrible gang around, and this side mission proves it. Speak to a monk at the docks of Northside in Watson. He’ll ask V to rescue his brother from the Maelstrom goons who are holding him hostage and forcefully putting cyberware on him.

After the rescue mission, which should be done peacefully to respect the monk’s wishes, V can collect an Epic-tier power weapon named Fenrir, which can be found on a table next to the monk’s brother in the Maelstrom hideout.

3 Kold Mirage

Any netrunner players will want to get their hands on powerful daemons, and there’s a perfect quest just for that. It’s so far unclear when or how this quest will present itself as players have received it at varying times, but the best way is to buy the Spellbook from Nix at the Afterlife, which will have the coordinates leading to a very familiar landfill.

Returning to this landfill is not only great to snatch the unique weapon located on Dexter DeShawn’s body that’s still rotting there, but also to open a peculiar fridge inside which an old cyberdeck can be found. Bring it to Nix, and save him by datamining his laptop next to his netrunning chair to receive a whole host of powerful quickhacks.

2 Love Rollercoaster

By now, players may have driven by Pacifica and admired the view of an old rollercoaster that seems to be out of operation. Good news: V and Johnny Silverhand can actually still ride the coaster if V can get it to work. Head over to the coaster and interact with Anel and Jean.

The control panel of the coaster is located at the left end of its station, and requires V to jump down a level. Scanning the coaster will also easily reveal the location if the player struggles to find it. There’s no special reward for completion, other than a fun ride with Johnny and a bit of experience.

1 Machine Gun

In Vista Del Rey, within a back alleyway marked by an exclamation point, V will be able to find the corpse of a dead man and an open suitcase with a very strange-looking gun inside. Interact with Skippy and choose whatever options sound good.

Skippy’s a powerful gun, but it’s story doesn’t just end there. After demolishing roughly 50 enemies with it, Skippy will finally remember who its real owner is. It’s up to V whether or not they want to return or keep the gun to themselves.
